摘要： An auto-focus camera including an automatic rangefinder device for generating a distance signal indicative of the distance between the camera and a target object to be photographed, a timer circuit for generating an output signal a predetermined time after a power switch is closed, to place a lens drive mechanism in an operative condition for repositioning an objective lens assembly of the camera in search of the true focus setting, and a lens arresting circuit including electromagnetic units. Either of the electromagnetic units is operable to arrest the objective lens assembly at a corresponding focal position when energized by the distance signal. The automatic rangefinder device can measure the distance from the camera to the target object independent of the release of the lens drive mechanism.

摘要： An automatic focus control camera which includes automatic exposure control means, automatic focus adjusting means, and flash means. These three means are arranged to have a power source in common, and furthermore, the automatic focus adjusting means and flash means are supplied with electric power through an electric voltage boosting circuit which is arranged not to function during an exposure period for taking photographs. Moreover, an electric voltage checking circuit is included for checking a voltage supplied to the automatic focus adjusting means so that the shutter can not be released unless the voltage reaches a predetermined level.

摘要： A motor driven film wind-up and rewind device for cameras is automatically switched from a film wind-up mode to a film rewind mode when the entire length of an unexposed film has been wound on a film take-up spool and surely remains in the film rewind mode thereafter. For the automatic switching of the modes a circuit detects increase in a motor current which occurs with a motor forced to stop after completion of the film wind-up. A movable member which is in the form of an through axle extending through a film rewinding sprocket moves from a first position to a second position immediately after initiation of the motor rotation for the film rewind, switching a switch to a state maintaining the device in the film rewind mode as well as connecting the sprocket with the motor. The movable member is returned to the first position in response to insertion of a film cartridge into a cartridge chamber of the camera and restrained at the first position till the initiation of the film rewind. With no cartridge inserted in the cartridge chamber the movable member is not returned to the first position so that the device remains in the film rewind mode allowing a camera exposure operation.

If the target contrast is lower than a predetermined level the objective lens is set at an infinity focusing position. 摘要： A camera including a lens cover and provided with a plurality of picture taking modes. The camera has the capability for outputting a signal representing that the lens cover is open or closed, for selecting one of the plurality of picture taking modes and for sending a photographic film. The camera has a first display portion for displaying the picture taking mode selected and a second display portion for displaying information of the photographic film loaded in the camera. The operation of the camera is controlled according to the picture taking mode selected and such control of the operation of the camera is inhibited while a signal is output representing that the lens cover is closed. While a signal is output representing that the lens cover is open, the first display portion displays the picture taking mode selected; and while a signal is output representing that the lens cover is closed the first display portion is inhibited from displaying the picture taking mode selected. The displaying of information of the photographic film and the sending of the photographic film can be accomplished independent of the signal representing that the lens cover is open or closed.

摘要： A contralight compensation exposure control system which determines as a contralight condition and fires a strobe when there is a difference between the output of a partial light measuring means for measuring the brightness of a portion of a scene to be photographed i.e. the brightness of the main object such as a person, and the output of an average light measuring means for measuring the brightness of comparatively large area of the scene i.e. the brightness of the subordinate object such as the background of the main object. The control circuit of the system inhibits the strobe firing and actuates an exposure compensation means to shift the controlled exposure to the overexposure side when a detecting means detect uncompletion of charging of the main capacitor for firing the strobe even if the contralight condition is detected.

摘要： A data reading device for a camera can provide a data being accurate with high probability through repeated data reading of a code pattern on a film cartridge even in hard conditions, such as a condition where contact between contact terminals of the device and code regions of the code pattern is unstable and a condition where the resistance value of a conductive code region is comparatively high or varies with the area on which the corresponding contact terminal abuts. In one operation example of an embodiment, the device discriminates consistency and inconsistency between the contents of the successively read data bit by bit and substitutes the contents of the later read data discriminated as being inconsistent for those of the previously read data only when the inconsistency discriminated contents of the later read data indicate conduction of the corresponding code regions. The previously read data is thus renewed again and again so as to more accurately correspond to the data indicated by the code regions of the code pattern.

摘要： An indicating system for indicating a diaphragm aperture suitable for scene brightness and set exposure factors, includes a pair of out-of-range indicating means for making an indication when the suitable diaphragm aperture is outside an available diaphragm range on either side of a full open and minimum aperture. The system further includes an interruption means for disabling indication of the diaphragm aperture when either of the pair of out-of-range indicating means is in operation or when the diaphragm aperture setting member is not set to the minimum diaphragm position. When an interchangeable lens, which is not adapted for the diaphragm aperture indication, is associated with the indicating system, the interruption means may also disable the diaphragm aperture indication.
