When the stored router identifying information and network prefix information become invalid, the bridging device generates an RA packet containing new valid router identifying information and network prefix information, whose lifetime is set infinite, and sends the RA packet to a communication terminal. This arrangement can reduce the frequency of the transmission of the RA packet from the router to the communication terminal, thereby decreasing the RA-packet processing load of the communication terminal.
