    摘要: A plasma display panel. A first substrate and a second substrate are provided opposing one another with a predetermined gap therebetween. Address electrodes are formed on the second substrate. Barrier ribs are mounted between the first substrate and the second substrate, the barrier ribs defining a plurality of discharge cells and a plurality of non-discharge regions. Phosphor layers are formed within each of the discharge cells. Discharge sustain electrodes are formed on the first substrate. The non-discharge regions are formed in areas encompassed by discharge cell abscissas and ordinates that pass through centers of each of the discharge cells. Also, external light absorbing members are formed between the second substrate and the barrier ribs layer at areas corresponding to locations of the non-discharge regions.

Discharge electrodes are arranged between the first and second substrates and are buried in a dielectric layer. A barrier structure having plurality of barrier ribs is installed between the first and second substrates, defining discharge cells. Phosphor layers are formed within the discharge cells. The first substrate is colored with a first coloring layer, and one of the dielectric layer, the barrier structure, and the phosphor layers is colored with a second coloring layer.

    摘要: A plasma display panel includes a first substrate, on which discharge sustain electrodes are formed, and an opposing second substrate, on which address electrodes are aligned in a first direction. Barrier ribs between the substrates define a plurality of discharge cells within which phosphor layers are formed. The display electrodes have bus electrodes, forming a corresponding pair within each of the discharge cells, and extension electrodes, extending from the bus electrodes into each of the discharge cells to form an opposing pair. A pair of the display electrodes corresponding to each of the discharge cells forms a first gap and a second gap having different distances from each other between the opposing extension electrodes, and forms a third gap between the bus electrodes. The second gap is longer than the first gap, and the third gap is longer than the second gap.

As a result, drive voltage margin quality between the different colors can be improved to produce a more reliable display.

The first substrate and the second substrate are substantially rectangular in shape with long side edges and short side edges, and are interconnected by frit deposited between the first substrate and the second substrate. The substrates have a predetermined discharge region and predetermined non-discharge regions that surround the discharge region. The PDP also includes barrier ribs mounted between the first substrate and the second substrate. The barrier ribs are mounted at least partly on the discharge region, and at least partly on the non-discharge regions that are adjacent to the long side edges of the substrates.
