    摘要: An electrophoretic display (EPD) device and a method of manufacturing the EPD are disclosed. An EPD device includes a first substrate, a second substrate, and an electrophoretic layer. The first substrate includes a plurality of pixel areas, and each pixel area includes a first electrode. The second substrate faces the first substrate and includes a second electrode to form an electric field with the first electrode and a color filter corresponding to the first electrode. The electrophoretic layer is disposed between the first substrate and the second substrate and is controlled by an electric field formed by the first electrode and the second electrode to display an image. An end portion of the color filter extends beyond an end portion of the first electrode.

    摘要: An electrophoretic display panel includes a first member, a second member, an electrophoretic layer and an outer member. The first member includes a first substrate and a pixel electrode formed on the first substrate. The first substrate has a display area and a dummy area disposed outside of the display area. The second member includes a second substrate facing the first substrate and a common electrode formed on a first surface of the second substrate. The electrophoretic layer is disposed between the first member and the second member and displays an image by an electric field generated between the pixel electrode and the common electrode. The outer member covers the dummy area and blocks light, so that display quality is improved.

The first substrate includes a first base substrate, a first electrode layer, a hydrophobic insulation layer and a partition wall. The first electrode layer is formed on the first base substrate and includes pixel electrodes spaced apart from each other and a common notch electrode formed between the pixel electrodes. The hydrophobic insulation layer is formed on the first electrode layer. The partition wall is formed surrounding the pixel electrodes and the common notch electrode on the hydrophobic insulation layer. The second substrate is opposite to the first substrate. The conductive fluid and the non-conductive fluid are interposed between the first and second substrates. The conductive fluid and the non-conductive fluid are controlled to vary transmittance of light in accordance with an electric signal applied to the pixel electrodes.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for processing video signals, the method comprising: decoding a current frame of a video signal in block units to generate a restored frame, and acquiring first and second flags to acquire a filter coefficient which is adaptively determined from the video signal for each slice on the basis of flag information, or performing deblocking filtering with a predetermined filter coefficient. The present invention relates to a video signal processing method which includes an inter-frame prediction method that determines a motion vector, and a method for performing inter-frame prediction for a residual image. The method for processing video signals can increase the compression encoding efficiency by performing accurate motion prediction and residual image prediction, and can improve the quality of a restored image by removing distortion and performing a filtering for restoring an image that is close to the original image.

    摘要: A method of manufacturing is disclosed for an electrophoretic display apparatus that includes an array substrate and an electrophoretic film laminated to the array substrate. A thermally activated adhesive is used to adhesively attach the electrophoretic film to the array substrate. The electrophoretic film is first aligned to and flattened against the array substrate and then a substantially stronger than original adhesion property of the adhesive is activated by annealing at a high temperature that is substantially greater than room temperature. Rework prior to annealing is therefore possible when alignment errors occur between the electrophoretic film and the array substrate.
