    摘要： Disclosed are a method for device discovery and a method for downloading content. The method for device discovery enables a first device to store a recently-connected-device list comprising information about devices which were recently connected to a network, to unicast, when connected to a network, a first device discovery request to a second device on the basis of the recently-connected-device list, to receive from the second device a first device discovery response to the first unicast device discovery request, and to update the recently-connected-device list on the basis of the received first device discovery response. Accordingly, rapid and effective device discovery can be implemented.

The method comprise discovering a plurality of UPnP devices; receiving, from at least one of the discovered UPnP devices, a Consumer Electronics Control (CEC) address of the UPnP device and a CEC address of a device which is connected to the UPnP device through a High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI); checking, by using the received CEC addresses, an HDMI connection between a source device and a sink device among the discovered UPnP devices; and controlling content to be streamed through the HDMI connection between the source device and the sink device.

The method includes: discovering, by a second device, a first device which is currently playing back a content in response to a seamless playback request; requesting the first device to transmit a property set related to a currently played back asset; and seamlessly playing back the content on the basis of the property set transmitted from the first device. Accordingly, a content can be seamlessly played back between devices through various types of downloads or streaming handovers in an open content market environment which supports device compatibility and a cross-service between heterogeneous services.

The content download method is performed by a first device, which obtains digital rights management (DRM) information on an asset from asset metadata associated with the asset, obtains DRM capabilities on a second device, performs a rights verification for using the asset through the second device on the basis of the DRM information and the DRM capabilities that are obtained, and transmits a queuing request for staging the asset through the second device on the basis of the results of the rights verification. Thus, to enable the consumption of contents, the rights verification may be performed on the basis of device capabilities and content information, and contents may be stably and effectively downloaded using a target device on the basis of the verified results.
