    摘要: A process for producing a medical implant from a titanium alloy, by investment-casting a β-titanium alloy in a casting mold which corresponds to the implant that is to be produced, hot isostatic pressing, solution annealing, and then quenching. The corresponding medical implant is produced from the titanium alloy using the investment casting process, thus allowing economical production of objects from β-titanium alloys. The β-titanium alloy and has a mean grain size of at least 0.3 mm. It is possible to combine the advantageous properties of β-titanium alloys, in particular their excellent mechanical properties, with the advantages of producing objects by the precision casting process, thus enabling even implants of complex shapes, such as femur parts of hip joint prostheses, which have heretofore been impossible (economically) to produce by conventional forging processes, to be produced from a β-titanium alloy.

    摘要: The invention relates to a process for producing a medical implant from a titanium alloy, by investment-casting the titanium alloy in a casting mold which corresponds to the implant that is to be produced. The invention provides for using a β-titanium alloy, hot isostatic pressing, solution annealing, and then quenching. The invention also covers a corresponding medical implant which has been produced from a titanium alloy using the investment casting process. The titanium alloy is a β-titanium alloy and has a mean grain size of at least 0.3 mm. The invention allows economical production of objects from β-titanium alloys using the investment casting process. The invention thereby makes it possible to combine the advantageous properties of β-titanium alloys, in particular their excellent mechanical properties, with the advantages of producing objects by the precision casting process.     摘要: An insertion instrument comprising an elongate shaft, a suction head provided at the front end thereof for connection to a joint socket, a suction device with a piston guided in the shaft, a suction line opening out at the suction head, and an actuating element which is guided along a guiding track on the shaft. The guiding track can be helically shaped and have a locking arrangement, preferably in the form of a recess, for the actuating element in a suction position. Due to the helical shape of the guiding track, the actuating element executes a rotational and longitudinal movement during its displacement. The longitudinal movement produces a negative pressure in the suction line ensuring maintenance of the pressure, while the rotating movement causes rotation of the actuating element such that it reaches its locking position at the end of the guiding track, providing simplified handling of the instrument.

This locking device includes a locking finger which is movable tangentially with respect to the pin holder and which, in the locking position, engages in a transverse groove of the associated pin and can be formed by a pivotably mounted hook.

    摘要: An intervertebral prosthesis, in particular for the cervical spine, includes a first cover plate to be connected to a first vertebral body, second cover plate to be connected to the second vertebral body, and a prosthesis core which forms an articulation with the second cover plate. The prosthesis core is held by seat of the first cover plate which is designed as a guide device. The core can be pushed into the guide device from the ventral side in the anterior-posterior (AP) direction relative to the first cover plate. A limit-stop plate is provided on the ventral edge of the first cover plate. This limit-stop plate is displaceable in a slide guide between a locking position and a nonlocking position.
