    摘要: A process for making fried taco shells. Disc tortillas are formed from a sheet of ground corn masa dough, and the formed disc tortillas are passed laterally through a heated baking oven on laterally moving open web support means in successive, appreciably longitudinally spaced transverse rows, each such row including a plurality of the tortillas. The baked tortillas are transferred in the aforesaid row arrangement through an elongated steam chamber and exposed to low pressure steam in the chamber for a time period of about a few seconds to about a few minutes. The steam exposure effects tempering and moisture equilibration in the tortillas. The tempered tortillas are transferred into and through deep fat frying apparatus.

    摘要: Taco shell manufacturing equipment that comprises in combination with suitable means to form and bake disk tortillas, certain means to equilibrate moisture throughout such baked tortillas in a relatively short tempering time of the general order of a few minutes as they are passed in successive longitudinally-spaced groups of substantially transversely aligned disks continuously through an elongated lateral steam chamber upon traveling lateral open web belting means as received from baking means and while being subjected in this chamber to relatively low pressure steam until discharged by this belting means through an exit end opening of the steam chamber as tempered tortillas. Driven lateral transfer means receive the tempered tortillas in the longitudinally-spaced transverse groups from the exit end of the steam chamber and transports them laterally forward to the entrance end of tortillas folding and frying apparatus. The equipment includes means for transporting the tortillas in lap-folded form through a hot fat bath in the frying apparatus, and means to deliver the fried tortillas as lap-folded taco shells from the frying apparatus to suitable packing means for ultimate marketing.

    摘要: Wound closure methods and apparatus are provided which utilize blood fluid by activating the clotting cascade of blood fluid outside the body within a substantially enclosed sterile container then introducing the blood fluid to the wound site to complete clotting. Methods and apparatus for providing ways of inhibiting anti-coagulating agents and slowing fibrin clot degradation are also disclosed. Kits for practicing the invention singularly or in combination with and/or associated with preferred procedures are also disclosed. The present invention provides improved methods of creating hemostasis or control of bleeding at the site of wounds, particularly wounds created in arteries during procedures employing percutaneous access. The invention preferably includes the steps of acquiring an aliquot of a patient's blood, i.e., autologous blood, removing a negatively charged anti-coagulating agent, preferably heparin, from the blood, and preferably initiating the blood's natural clotting cascades and transporting the thus treated blood to the site of the wound where the clotting cascade will be completed producing a clot at the wound site that will create a condition of hemostasis. The invention further provides a clotting cascade initiation apparatus including a substantially enclosed sterile containment chamber within which an aliquot of blood fluid, either autologous or from donor sources, can be received and retained. In preferred embodiments, the sterile containment chamber further includes a heparin binding agent which will bind heparin and remove it from the blood fluid. In further embodiments the containment chamber will also include a procoagulating agent, wherein a clotting cascade can be initiated when the blood fluid is accepted into the sterile containment chamber.

    摘要: Embodiments of the present invention provide an approach for automatic storage planning and provisioning within a clustered computing environment (e.g., a cloud computing environment). Specifically, embodiments of the present invention will receive planning input for a set of storage area network volume controllers (SVCs) within the clustered computing environment, the planning input indicating a potential load on the SVCs and its associated components. Along these lines, analytical models (e.g., from vendors) can be also used that allow for a load to be accurately estimated on the storage components. Regardless, configuration data for a set of storage components (i.e., the set of SVCs, a set of managed disk (Mdisk) groups associated with the set of SVCs, and a set of backend storage systems) will also be collected. Based on this configuration data, the set of storage components will be filtered to identify candidate storage components capable of addressing the potential load. Then, performance data for the candidate storage components will be analyzed to identify an SVC and an Mdisk group to address the potential load. This allows for storage provisioning planning to be automated in a highly accurate fashion.
