    摘要： An ink that includes a recording agent and a liquid medium capable of dissolving or dispersing the recording agent. The ink contains a compound represented by the following Formula (I):R.sub.1 --CONH--R.sub.2 (I)wherein R.sub.1 represents an alkyl group or aryl group unsubstituted or substituted with a group selected from a hydroxyl group, a carboxyl group, a sulfone group, an amino group and an acetylamino group; and R.sub.2 represents a hydrogen atom, an amide group, an aminoalkyl group, an aliphatic carboxylic acid residual group, or an aryl group unsubstituted or substituted with a group selected from a hydroxyl group, a carboxyl group, a sulfone group, an amino group and an acetylamino group; provided that R.sub.1 represents the unsubstituted or substituted aryl group when R.sub.2 is a hydrogen atom. The ink is suitably used in ink-jet recording.

    摘要： An ink comprises a recording agent and a liquid medium capable of dissolving or dispersing the recording agent, wherein said ink contains both a compound represented by the following Formula (I) and a compound represented by the following Formula (II): ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 each represent an alkyl group or a hydroxyalkyl group, and any one of them may represent a hydrogen atom; X.sup.- represents an inorganic acid ion; R.sub.4 and R.sub.5 each represent a group selected from a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group and a hydroxyalkyl group; and R.sub.6 represents a group selected from a carboxyl group, a hydroxyl group, a sulfone group, an alkyl group and a hydrogen atom. The ink is suitably used in the ink-jet recording.

    摘要： An ink jet cartridge has a recording head portion and an ink containing portion which are detachably mountable relative to each other. The recording head portion ejects ink to effect recording with the ink. The cartridge includes a first ink container, provided in the recording head portion, for containing the ink; a second ink container, provided in the ink containing portion, for containing the ink; and an ink communication tube for establishing ink communication between the first ink container and the second ink container, wherein the ink communication tube is not externally exposed. An ink jet recording apparatus includes a recording head for ejecting ink, an ink container detachably mountable to the recording head for containing the ink to be supplied to the recording head, a detecting device for detecting mounting of the ink container to the ink jet recording apparatus and a control device for controlling a recording operation of the ink jet recording apparatus in accordance with an output of the detecting device.
