A process for preparing monoallylamine represented by the formula (II):CH.sub.2 .dbd.CHCH.sub.2 NH.sub.2 (II)which comprises: catalytically reacting isopropanolamine represented by the formula (I): ##STR1## in a gaseous phase in the presence of a catalyst having dehydrating property. According to the preparation process of the present invention, monoallylamine can be easily obtained in high selectivity and high yield.

A heteroaromatic nitrile is prepared in high conversion and yield by catalytically reacting an alkyl-substituted heteroaromatic compound with molecular oxygen and ammonia in the presence of a catalyst having the following composition:Mo(P).sub.x (A).sub.y (B).sub.z (O).sub.w (I)wherein x, y, z and w represent atomic ratios of phosphorus, an element A defined below, an element B defined below and oxygen to molybdenum, respectively and(i) x and z are both 0 (zero), y is from 0.1 to 5, and A is at least one element selected from the group consisting of cerium and tungsten, or(ii) x is from 0.1 to 7, y is from 0 to 5, z is from 0 to 5, A is at least one element selected from the group consisting of cerium, manganese and tungsten, and B is at least one element selected from the group consisting of thallium, titanium, niobium and aluminum, or(iii) x is from 0.5 to 7, y is from 0 to 5, z is from 0.01 to 2. A catalytic process for the preparation of acrolein by the vapor phase oxidation of propylene which comprises contacting propylene and oxygen with a catalyst composition comprising a catalyst system of the formula:Mo.sub.a Bi.sub.b Fe.sub.c X.sub.d Ni.sub.e Tl.sub.f P.sub.g O.sub.hwherein X is one or more of Mg, Mn and Co and a, b, c, d, e, f, g and h represent, respectively, the number of atoms wherein a is 12, b is 0.1 to 5, c is 0.1 to 5, d is 0 to 12, e is 0.1 to 12, f is 1 or less but not 0, g is 0 to 5 and h depends on the number of the other atoms and is usually from 36 to 89. Acrolein is produced with the use of said catalyst in a high selectivity and an excellent yield per each pass even at a large space velocity.

A method for the production of a spherical molded product of a titanium oxide composition comprising adding a titanium oxide composition powder and a mist of an aqueous medium to a seed of an inorganic substance, granulating the mixture with a centrifugal fluidizing coating granulator and calcining the resultant spherical product, which is characteristic in that the granulation of the mixture is carried out by adding the titanium oxide composition powder and the aqueous medium in the ratio of addition rate of 1:0.20 to 1:0.35 by weight, whereby there is obtained a spherical molded product having a larger strength with less abrasion. The spherical molded product obtained by the present invention is useful, for instance, as a catalyst carrier or catalyst for the removal of nitrogen oxides from exhaust gases.

C in the presence of 0.3 to 4 mol of ammonia (on the basis of 1 mol of the nitrogen oxides).
