The water disintegratable absorber includes a water disintegratable absorber layer and a water insoluble resin layer. The amount of water absorption of the water disintegratable absorber layer is 300 g/m2 or more and tear strength in the plan view direction of the water insoluble resin layer is 0.15 N/40 mm or less in a first direction as well as a second direction that is orthogonal to the first direction.

摘要： A sanitary napkin in which diffusing liquid hardly reaches a rear end edge is adapted to make a liquid absorbent layer less deformable in a rear region so that it can easily be kept in close contact with the wearer's buttocks. The sanitary napkin has an elongated main absorbent region surrounded by compressed grooves that are formed in a skin-side surface. Since a rear end of the main absorbent region is far away from a rear end edge of the napkin to provide a relatively large rear region, worries about rearward leakage may be relieved. Furthermore, since auxiliary longitudinal grooves are provided in the rear region, a liquid absorbent layer may hardly be twisted.

The fibrillated rayon has primary fibers of a predetermined fiber length and microfibers extending from the primary fibers. The fibrillated rayon includes a first type of fibrillated rayon having a degree of beating of at most 700 cc, of which the length of the primary fibers falls between 1.8 mm and 4.0 mm at the peak of its self-weighted, average fiber length distribution profile curve, and a second type of fibrillated rayon having a degree of beating of at most 700 cc, of which the length of the primary fibers falls between 4.5 mm and 10.0 mm at the peak of its self-weighted, average fiber length distribution profile curve. The microfibers extending from the first and second, types of fibrillated rayon are entangled with and/or hydrogen-bonded to at least either of other microfibers and other fibers.
