摘要： The invention provides novel polyesters, fibers and films, nonwovens from the fibers and disposable products of the polyesters such as diapers. The products are degradable under the conditions typically existing in waste compositing processes, have low ingredient costs and yet provide strength and toughness properties adequate for end uses such as in disposable diapers. The polyesters are based upon polyester ingredients, such as polyethylene terephthalate, copolymerized with an alkali metal or alkaline earth metal 4-sulfophthalic acid derivative, and other ingredients, such as polyethylene ether glycols and/or non-aromatic diacids, such as adipic and glutaric acids.

摘要： A new gel-like composition of matter containing a complex carbohydrate with a high degree of carboxyl substitution cross-linked by an organic cross-linker has been developed. The cross-linkers have complex ring structures, e.g., polynuclear or heterocyclic compounds, which permit development of two distinct partial positive charges under conditions where a carbohydrate is negatively charged. Antibiotics are the preferred cross-linking agents and a method of sustained release of the antibodies is also disclosed.

An inner sheet of biodegradable material is able to allow the passage of water and is attached to the outer sheet by a biodegradable adhesive at the periphery to form an envelope. A super absorbent core is located within the envelope. There is a water resistant film of biodegradable material located within the core to assist in fluid distribution into the core.
