    摘要: A liner hanger assembly has a slip actuation system which is locked for run-in. A piston assembly bolts onto the mandrel in a sealable manner to actuate a mechanical lock. Upon release of the lock, a plurality of springs actuate a sleeve which is in turn attached to the slips to move them relative to their slip seats. The slip seats are preferably mounted to the mandrel without welding and have longitudinal spaces for mud or cement flow therebetween. Load is distributed from each slip through its slip seat into the mandrel without interaction from an adjacent slip or slip seat. A rupture disk ensures that a predetermined pressure is built up before the piston can actuate to defeat the lock. The lock can come in a variety of configurations. One of which is a sliding sleeve over a dog and another is a yoke over a split ring which, when shifted, allows the split ring to expand, thus unlocking the parts. The slips can also be configured to allow flow of mud or cement behind them, thus reducing the resistance to flow of such materials.

    摘要: A locking production seal assembly is shown for sealing a well tubing string within the bore of a surrounding well conduit which has been provided with an internal recess. The seal assembly includes a sliding mandrel which is made up in the well tubing string and an outer sleeve which is carried about the mandrel. The outer sleeve has an external seal for sealing with the interior of the surrounding conduit and an internal seal for sealing with the sliding mandrel. A setting sleeve carried between the mandrel and outer sleeve carries a set of setting dogs for engaging the surrounding conduit and a set of locking dogs for locking the setting sleeve to the surrounding sleeve once the assembly is set. The load carrying setting dogs are separated from the mandrel exterior by the setting sleeve to prevent damage to the mandrel exterior.

    摘要: The present invention provides an apparatus for anchoring of equipment within the interior bore of a section of a subterranean well conduit, and particularly for insertion of such equipment. The apparatus comprises a cylindrical housing and a conically tapered surface around the exterior of the housing which is radially larger at its upper end and tapered to a radially smaller lower end. A seal body is provided which is carried exteriorly around the housing and has its interior tapered end reverse to that of the conically tapered surface around the housing and which is selectively longitudinally movable relative to the housing from a first, unset position on the conduit section to a second, set position on the conduit section and radially expandable during the movement relative to the housing. Anchoring means are carried exteriorly around the body for securing the apparatus to the conduit section against upward and downward movement of the apparatus. A bi-directional anchoring system is provided such that force received on or through either end of the apparatus drives the apparatus into further anchoring engagement with the conduit section. A metal-to-metal primary and elastomeric secondary seal system are provided on the apparatus with the secondary elastomeric seal having zero extrusion and slip body having a ductility of from between about 1% and about 15%.

    摘要: The present invention provides an apparatus for anchoring of equipment within the interior bore of a section of a subterranean well conduit, and particularly for insertion of such equipment. The apparatus comprises a cylindrical housing and a conically tapered surface around the exterior of the housing which is radially larger at its upper end and tapered to a radially smaller lower end.     摘要: An expandable slip ring is used to secure attachment of an expanded tubular to a surrounding tubular. It features elongated generally axially oriented openings separated by narrow segments. As a swage is advanced within a tubular that has the slip ring outside it the narrow segments or tabs expand and can break but the ring is still held to its shape as the expansion progresses due to the integrity of other tabs that can subsequently break as the swage advances within the tubular that is surrounded by the slip ring. The integrity of the slip ring is enhanced for storage and run in while the expansion characteristics are more uniform as the ring retains some structural integrity during much of the expansion process.

    摘要: An expandable tubular pin and box connection is described having a feature of trapping the pin nose after preferably deforming the pin nose plastically in an outward direction away from the longitudinal axis of the connection. The box end is held away from the pin wall before expansion so that its tendency to curl inwardly upon expansion causes it to bend against the pin wall for sealing with it. The thread profile is also optimized to reduce flank separation as a result of expansion.

    摘要: The present invention relates to an improved method for multilateral completion and cementing (i.e., sealing) the juncture between primary and lateral wellbores. The completion method of the present invention addresses the issue of cementation and sealing of junctures between vertical and lateral wellbores. It is desirable to have the ability to re-enter each lateral wellbore as well as maintain the option to perform any function that could be done in a single wellbore. For this reason, cemented and sealed lateral wellbores are desirable so that normal isolation, stimulation or any other operation can be achieved. The method allows sealing and reworking of either wellbores with single laterals or multiple laterals and provides safe durable junctions therebetween. The method of this invention utilizes a "hook" liner hanger system. The Hook liner hanger system includes a novel camming surface and guide slot which cooperates with a complimentary control lug to selectively direct a tool in a primary or lateral wellbore.
