摘要: A multiview display device displays multiple views having respective viewing angles related to an object to be displayed. The display device includes an optical device for displaying multiple viewing cones. A first cone of the multiple viewing cones has different views so that a different view is observed by a right eye and a left eye of a viewer of the multiview display device. The different views of the first cone have an angular distribution relative to the display device, where sets of image data are provided such that the angular distribution has a first part of adjacent views with increasing viewing angle and a second part of adjacent views with decreasing viewing angle. Further, the angular distribution has a first one of the views in between a maximum view which corresponds to a maximum viewing angle and a minimum view which corresponds to a minimum viewing angle.

摘要: An auto-stereoscopic display device which addresses the problem of how to provide an improved three dimensional effect without degrading the resolution of the views. The auto-stereoscopic display device comprises: image forming means having an array of display pixels for producing a display; view forming means positioned in registration with the image forming means and having an array of view forming elements, the view forming elements each being configurable to focus the outputs of groups of the display pixels into a plurality of views projected towards a user in different directions; and view deflecting means positioned in registration with the view forming means, the view deflecting means being arranged to selectably change the directions in which the plurality of views are projected towards the user. The view deflecting means comprise at least one birefringent prism having a first refractive index for light having a first polarization direction and a second refractive index for light having a second polarization direction. The view deflecting means further comprise a polarization switch in registration with the birefringent prism for providing the birefringent prism with display light having the first or second polarization direction. Specific arrangements of the image forming means, the view forming means and the view deflection means provide an even distribution of pixels and virtual pixels associated with the deflected views

摘要: A display system (100) for displaying images from different data streams (1,2) simultaneously is described. Images corresponding to the first data stream (1) are shown to a first observer (106) in a vehicle and images corresponding to the second data stream (2) are shown to a second observer (108) in the vehicle. The display system (100) comprises: a display screen (102 for generating a first one of the images and a second one of the images; and an optical selection screen (104) for selectively passing the first one of the images in a first direction (101) towards the first observer (106) and passing the second one of the image second direction (103) towards the second observer (108). It is advantageously that the display screen (102) generates images both data streams (1,2).

摘要: A method of rendering a multi-view image comprising a first output image and a second output image on basis of an input image (102) is disclosed. The method comprises: creating a modulation image (100) comprising irregular shaped objects (106-112); modulating pixel values of a portion of the input image (102) on basis of further pixel values of the modulation image (100), resulting into an intermediate image (104); and generating the multi-view image by means of warping the intermediate image on basis of the disparity data.

摘要: Most watermarking schemes are not resistant to geometric distortions of a watermarked image, because such manipulations destroy the correlation between the original watermark and the watermark in the manipulated image. In order to restore the correlation, a suspect image (Q) is analyzed (6) for the presence of a repeated data pattern. If such a pattern is found, it is concluded that the image has been watermarked by “tiling” a small-sized watermark pattern over the extent of the image. The actual detection of whether the watermark is a given watermark W is subsequently performed by determining the periodicity of the pattern found in the suspect image, and processing (9) the suspect image so as to match the periodicity of the processed image with the given periodicity of the watermark to be detected. If the suspect image indeed includes the given watermark W, the geometric manipulation is thereby undone and a conventional watermark detector (3) will signify this accordingly. If a combination of operations can generate the same periodicity, the detection step will include the set of possible combinations.

摘要: Disclosed is a visual communication signal (32) which comprises image model information (10) for generating 3-D images. The image model information (10) may comprise a 3-D image model, e.g. a 3-D wireframe model or a 3-D voxel map. Some of the generated 3-D images may have a relatively low image quality. The visual communication signal (32) further comprises image enhancement information (20) corresponding to at least part of the 3-D images for enhancing the image quality of the generated 3-D images. This image enhancement information (20) may comprise image information corresponding to one or more single viewpoints (22, 24) and/or image information corresponding to one or more ranges of viewpoints (26, 28). The visual communication signal (32) may be transmitted from a transmitter (30) to a receiver (34) in a visual communication system (40) such as a 3-D television system or a 3-D teleconferencing system. Alternatively, the visual communication signal (32) may be carried by a tangible medium, e.g. a CD-ROM or a DVD-ROM.
