Abstract: A hearing device includes at least one microphone configured to capture sound signals within an overall frequency range and to convert them into an input signal. A signal processor is provided for processing the input signal within a lower frequency range that is part of an overall frequency range. A detector is provided for detecting a noise that has frequency components both inside and outside the lower frequency range, namely in an upper frequency range above the lower frequency range. The hearing device is configured in such a way that the detector detects the noise based on its frequency component in the upper frequency range. A method for operating a hearing device is also provided.

Abstract: A method for operating a hearing aid, in particular a hearing aid device, which includes a directional microphone, an interference noise suppression unit, and a receiver for outputting an output sound. Sound is acquired from a preferred direction and conducted to the interference noise suppression unit by way of the directional microphone. A counter sound signal is created and conducted to the receiver by the interference noise suppression unit. The counter sound signal is output as output sound by way of the receiver. The counter sound signal is created in such a way that upon superposition of the output sound with the sound, destructive acoustic interference at least partially takes place. There is also described a hearing aid and the use of a hearing aid.

Abstract: A method for operating a binaural hearing system having first and second hearing instruments uses respective first and second input transducers to generate first and second input signals from an ambient sound. The first and second input signals are subjected to respective first and second low-latency analyses to determine at least one first and at least one second respective parameter of a signal processing. The first parameter is transmitted to the second hearing instrument and the second parameter is transmitted to the first hearing instrument. A synchronized parameter is determined in the first and second hearing instruments based on the first and second parameters. The synchronized parameter is applied in the first hearing instrument to signal components of the first input signal and in the second hearing instrument to signal components of the second input signal. A binaural hearing system is configured to carry out the method.

Abstract: A hearing system assists the hearing of a user and has a hearing instrument worn in or on the ear of the user. In operation, a sound signal from surroundings of the hearing instrument is received by an input transducer and modified in a signal processing step. The modified sound signal is output by an output transducer. A first signal component and a second signal component are derived from the received sound signal, wherein these signal components chronologically overlap. In the first signal component, the ego voice of the user is emphasized over the ambient noise, while in the second signal component, the ambient noise is emphasized over the ego voice of the user. The first signal component and the second signal component are processed in different ways in the signal processing step and combined after this processing to generate the modified sound signal.

Abstract: A method operates a hearing device where a first directional signal and a second directional signal are generated in the hearing device from a sound signal of the environment. A parameter is determined based on the first directional signal and the second directional signal, which represents a quantitative measure of the stationarity of a sound signal. A noise-optimized signal is generated from the first directional signal and the second directional signal based on the parameter. The method is performed by a hearing device having a first microphone and a second microphone for generating a first directional signal and a second directional signal. Abstract: A method for operating a hearing device on the basis of a speech signal. An acousto-electric input transducer of the hearing device records a sound containing the speech signal from surroundings of the hearing device and converts the sound into an input audio signal. A signal processing operation generates an output audio signal based on the input audio signal. At least one articulatory and/or prosodic feature of the speech signal is quantitatively acquired through analysis of the input audio signal by way of the signal processing operation, and a quantitative measure of a speech quality of the speech signal is derived on the basis of the property. At least one parameter of the signal processing operation for generating the output audio signal based on the input audio signal is set on the basis of the quantitative measure of the speech quality of the speech signal.

Abstract: A method operates a hearing aid where the hearing aid generates an input signal from acoustic signals from the environment. The hearing aid has a signal processor which is configured to modify the input signal and thereby generate an output signal. The signal processor has an automatic gain control for modifying the input signal, and has a compressor that can be operated with a compression scheme. The environment is divided into a plurality of directions of which one is selected by a direction determination unit as a relevant direction. The input signal is modified in a direction-dependent manner by the compressor being operated with a compression scheme, which is set dependent on the relevant direction, so that acoustic signals from the relevant direction are emphasized compared to acoustic signals from other directions.
