Abstract: A method of controlling communications within a wireless communications network is provided. The method comprises communicating, with a first infrastructure equipment acting as a donor node, signals representing data by a second of the infrastructure equipment over a first communications path via one or more others of infrastructure equipment acting as relay nodes, the second infrastructure equipment being a child node and one of the one or more other infrastructure equipment acting as the relay nodes or the donor node being a parent node, the parent node being connected to the child node via a backhaul communications link and configured to allocate uplink communications resources to the child node.

Abstract: A method for transmitting data by an infrastructure equipment in a wireless communications network to a communications device, the method comprising transmitting by the infrastructure equipment a paging message; receiving by the infrastructure equipment a random access request, the random access request transmitted by the communications device in response to the paging message; in response to receiving the random access request, transmitting by the infrastructure equipment an indication of communications resources allocated for a transmission by the infrastructure equipment and transmitting by the infrastructure equipment an indication that the transmission by the infrastructure equipment comprises data to be transmitted while no radio connection is established between the communications device and the infrastructure equipment: and transmitting by the infrastructure equipment the data using the allocated communications resources.

Abstract: A method of operating a terminal device to receive user plane data from a network infrastructure equipment in a wireless telecommunications network when the terminal device is not in an active radio resource connected mode, the method comprising: receiving paging message signalling from the network infrastructure equipment, wherein the paging message signalling comprises an indication the network infrastructure equipment has user plane data for transmission to the terminal device while the terminal device is not in an active radio resource connected mode; determining from the paging message signalling a set of radio resources on which the user plane data is to be transmitted by the network infrastructure equipment to the terminal device; and receiving the user plane data from the network infrastructure equipment using the determined set of radio resources while the terminal device is not in an active radio resource connected mode.

Abstract: A communications device for use in a wireless communications network providing a wireless access interface within a system bandwidth, the system bandwidth comprising a plurality of bandwidth parts, the communications device comprising a transmitter configured to transmit signals using a plurality of activated bandwidth parts, a receiver configured to receive signals using the plurality of activated bandwidth parts, the received signals being signals transmitted using a plurality of activated beams, and a controller configured to control the transmitter and the receiver so that the communications device is operable: to determine that an activated beam associated with a first bandwidth part satisfies beam failure criteria; to select from the plurality of activated bandwidth parts a second bandwidth part; and to transmit using communications resources associated with the selected second bandwidth part a beam failure indication indicating that the activated beam associated with the first bandwidth part satisfies the beam failure criteria.
