摘要: A primary wireless access node receives primary power headroom for User Equipment (UE). A secondary wireless access receives secondary power headroom for the UE and transfers the secondary power headroom to the primary wireless access node. The primary wireless access node compares the power primary headroom to the secondary power headroom to determine a primary uplink grant amount and a secondary uplink grant amount for the UE. The primary wireless access node grants primary uplink resources to the UE based on the primary uplink grant amount. The secondary wireless access node grants secondary uplink resources to the UE based on the secondary uplink grant amount. The wireless access nodes receive user data from the UE based on the uplink grant amounts.

摘要: In a wireless communication network, a primary access node controls the amount of secondary access nodes that serve User Equipment (UE). The primary access node exchanges data with the UE, corrects errors, and determines an error rate. The primary access node exchanges the data over backhaul links and determines backhaul throughput. The primary access node determines a target number of the secondary access nodes based on the error rate and the backhaul throughput. The primary access node identifies a qualifying set of the secondary access nodes that have adequate received signal strength. The primary access node selects a serving set having the target number of secondary access nodes from the qualifying set. The primary access node indicates the UE to the serving set and indicates the serving set to the UE. The serving set of the secondary access nodes exchange data with the UE.

摘要: Methods and systems are provided for dynamically adjusting beamforming weights based on an azimuthal change request. A proposed azimuth change of an antenna is received, such as at a base station, where the proposed azimuth change is for remote azimuth steering of the antenna. A potential inter-cell interference is determined based on the proposed azimuth change. Based on the potential inter-cell interference, it can be predicted whether the proposed azimuth change can be made. The response, as to whether or not the proposed azimuth change can be made or not, is communicated to the base station.

摘要: Methods and systems are provided for dynamically adjusting the beamform of an antenna array. A first beamform produced by an emission from a first antenna and an emission from a second antenna are determined, each of the first antenna and the second antenna having separate power supplies. Positions of user devices served by the cell of the antenna array are determined and compared to the first beamform. If it is determined that a second beamform would provide better coverage to any one or more of the user devices served by the cell, any one or more of the power supplies to individual antennas may be modified. Any one or more power supplies may utilize changes in the phase and/or amplitude of the power supplied to an antenna to change the emission of at least one antenna, producing a second beamform. The second beamform, in particular, may permit dynamic targeting of various vertical distributions of user devices within the cell.

摘要: Methods and systems are provided for dynamically delaying a calibration of an antenna. It is determined that there is a quantity of user devices above a predetermined threshold on a particular sector of an antenna associated with the base station, or that there is a quantity of user devices above a predetermined threshold in an MU-MIMO group on the particular sector of the antenna. Further, it is determined that there is an upcoming scheduled calibration event of the antenna, and based on the upcoming scheduled calibration event and the occurrence, the upcoming scheduled calibration event of the antenna is delayed or postponed.

摘要: Embodiments of the invention include a system for reducing tropospheric ducting and tropospheric refraction in a wireless telecommunication network. A base station or network component receives weather information and determines if conditions are right for tropospheric ducting or tropospheric refraction. A simultaneous rise in UL interference, call failure rates, and call drop rates in adjacent markets can indicate tropospheric ducting. A rise in UL interference, call failure rates, and call drop rates by devices in one market can indicate tropospheric refraction. Where these UL interferences, call failure rates, and call drop rates occur daily for a similar duration each day, they are treated as being caused by tropospheric propagation and a mitigation routine is implemented through antenna down-tilt.

摘要: Methods and systems are provided for dynamically adjusting vertical beamforming weights to influence a width of a vertical beam emitted from an antenna. A quantity of users present in a particular geographic area is determined, where the user devices have a line of sight with the antenna and are vertically distributed from other user devices. CQIs are received from the user devices. It is determined that the quantity of user devices is above a maximum threshold of user devices, and the CQIs indicated that channel quality is below a minimum threshold. The amplitude and phase components of the vertical beamforming weight are adjusted to modify the width of the vertical beam emitted from the antenna.

摘要: A wireless communication system controls Carrier Aggregation (CA) at a wireless relay. A wireless access point wirelessly receives user data and transfers a first portion of the user data to a wireless User Equipment (UE) using a UE CA configuration and a second portion of the user data to the wireless relay using a relay CA configuration, wherein the wireless relay wirelessly serves additional UEs. The wireless access point determines an amount of the transferred user data and translates the amount of the transferred user data into a new UE CA configuration and a new relay CA configuration. The wireless access point wirelessly receives additional user data and transfers a first portion of the additional user data to the wireless UE using the new UE CA configuration and a second portion of the additional user data to the wireless relay using the new relay CA configuration.

摘要: Systems, methods, and computer-readable media for dynamically optimizing the use of full-power broadcast beamforming within a wireless communication network are provided herein. Though full-power broadcast beamforming may result in increased interference and decrease throughput, the increased coverage area provided by full-power broadcast beamforming is favored under certain conditions, including the locations of user devices within a network cell. Accordingly, location data may be received from user devices within a network cell utilizing a plurality of beams, and the locations of each of the user devices may be used to determine whether to enable full-power broadcast beamforming where each beam within plurality of beams is at a maximum signal strength. Upon determining to enable full-power broadcast beamforming, a signal weight for one or more of the beams may be adjusted to full power.

摘要: An apparatus and method are provided for dynamically changing power distribution levels to sectors in a cell site. A device, such as an eNodeB, radio network controller, or base station controller, provides instructions to an RF power splitter to adjust the power output in ratios, which changes the power distribution levels at the sectors. The power splitter contains a transformer and motor that can dynamically change the power output ratios based on the instructions received from the device. The resulting power outputs are distributed to the sectors.
