Abstract: A Long Term Evolution (LTE) data communication network to route Vehicle-to-X (V2X) data communications. The LTE communication network includes an LTE network central core and distributed LTE network cores individually connected to LTE network agents. The LTE communication network further includes a wireless base station receiving V2X service data individually associating the distributed LTE network cores and the LTE network agents with multiple V2X service types; and receiving user communication data identifying one of the V2X service types from the vehicle UE. If the identified V2X service type is associated with one of the LTE network agents, then the wireless base station transfers the user communication data to the associated distributed LTE network core for delivery to the associated one of the LTE network agents. If the identified V2X service type is not associated with one of the LTE network agents, then the wireless base station transfers the user communication data to the LTE network central core.

Abstract: A wireless base station receives a Radio Resource Control (RRC) message having a Vehicle-to-X (V2X) service indicator from a User Equipment (UE) and transfers a UE message to a network core that serves the UE with the V2X service. The wireless base station receives another RRC message having a text/multimedia messaging service indicator from another UE and transfers a UE message to a different network core that serves the other UE with the text/multimedia messaging service. The wireless base station receives another RRC message having a video conferencing service indicator from a UE and transfers a UE message to yet another network core that serves the UE with the video conferencing service.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and software described herein provide enhancements for data communications between a wireless access node and a wireless network gateway. In one implementation, a method of operating a wireless network includes, in the wireless access node, wirelessly receiving data packets for wireless communication devices, and encapsulating the data packets in GPRS Tunneling Protocol (GTP) packets of a shared GTP tunnel for the plurality of wireless communication devices, wherein the GTP packets comprise GTP extension headers to multiplex the data packets in the GTP packets. The method further provides, in the wireless access node, transferring the GTP packets for delivery to a wireless network gateway, wherein the network gateway separates the data packets from the GTP packets based on the GTP extension headers.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and software described herein provide enhancements for data communications between a wireless access node and a wireless network gateway. In one implementation, a method of operating a wireless network includes, in the wireless access node, receiving data packets, via wireless signaling, from a plurality of wireless communication devices, generating GPRS Tunneling Protocol (GTP) packets for the data packets, and generating a wrapper for the GTP packets, wherein the wrapper is used to multiplex the GTP packets in a user datagram protocol (UDP) packet. The method further provides, in the wireless access node, transferring the UDP packet to a wireless network gateway, wherein the wireless network gateway separates the data packets from the UDP packet and GTP packets based on the wrapper, and forwards the data packets over a communication network.

Abstract: A wireless base station receives signaling from User Equipment (UE) that indicates multiple data services. The base station transfers signaling indicating the data services to a Mobility Management Entity (MME). The MME selects individual MMEs to support the individual data services and transfers signaling indicating the MME/service combinations. The base station receives the MME/service combinations and transfers signaling to the selected MMEs indicating their data services for the UE. The MMEs perform session control for the data services for the UE. The MMEs also exchange Non-Access Stratum (NAS) signaling for the data services with the UE over the wireless base station.

Abstract: A distributed multi-core Long Term Evolution (LTE) data communication network serves User Equipment (UE) with various combinations of data services. A wireless base station receives core service data that individually associates the data services with the LTE network cores. The wireless base station transfers UE service data that indicates the data services to the UE. The wireless base station receives a UE service request from the UE identifying one of the data services and responsively selects an LTE network core based on the core service data. The wireless base station transfers a UE message that indicates the UE and the identified data service for delivery to the selected LTE network core. The selected LTE network core serves the identified data service to the UE.
