摘要： Example methods and apparatus to discover network capabilities for connecting to an access network are disclosed. A disclosed example method involves sending a request to a first access network of a first network type. The request is addressed to a database and requests network connectivity information for connecting to a second access network of a second network type different from the first network type. The example method also involves receiving a response from the first access network. The response includes the network connectivity information for connecting to the second access network.

摘要： Example methods and apparatus to provide network capabilities for connecting to an access network are disclosed. A disclosed example method involves receiving a request at a first access network of a first network type. The request is addressed to a database and requests network connectivity information for connecting a wireless terminal to a second access network of a second network type different from the first network type. The example method also involves sending a response to the wireless terminal via the first access network. The response includes the network connectivity information for connecting the wireless terminal to the second access network.

摘要： Example methods and apparatus to authenticate requests for network capabilities for connecting to an access network are disclosed. A disclosed example method involves receiving a request at a first access network. The request requests network connectivity information for connecting a wireless terminal to a second access network. The example method also involves encapsulating the request in an authentication frame. The authentication frame indicates the request as a white space protocol frame. The authentication frame is sent to a database addressed in the request.

摘要： In a communications network having a first network cell and an associated access device, a method for enabling user equipment (UE) to obtain a service unavailable through the first network cell includes receiving a request for the UE to access the service, identifying the radio coverage of a second network cell, and when the radio coverage of the first network cell is within the radio coverage of the second network cell, directing the UE to the second network cell without requesting measurement data from the UE.

摘要： A method in user equipment (UE) associated with a first network cell in a wireless telecommunications system includes performing idle mode measurements of one or more network cells other than the first network cell when the UE is operating in an idle mode, receiving a request to access a first service unavailable through the first network cell, communicating with an access device associated with the first network cell based on results of the idle mode measurements, receiving from the access device an identification of a second network cell, and accessing the first service through the second network cell.
