摘要: A system includes an electric vehicle supply circuit adapted to supply electric power to an electric vehicle, a line fitting arranged to connect the electric vehicle supply circuit to a source of electric power, and a sensor arranged to detect when the line fitting is being disconnected from the source of electric power. The electric vehicle supply circuit is adapted to interrupt the supply of electric power to the electric vehicle in response to the sensor to interrupt the flow of power through the electric vehicle supply circuit before the line fitting is disconnected from the power source.

摘要: An EVSE system includes an electric vehicle supply circuit having overcurrent protection circuit to prevent excessive current from flowing to the electric vehicle. A current limit may be set by a manufacturer of the EVSE, by a user of the EVSE, by an electric utility, by the EVSE itself in response to a control pilot signal, etc. The current limit may be set to prevent tripping an overcurrent protection device on a branch circuit for the EVSE, to accommodate one or more parameters of an electric vehicle charging facility, etc. The overcurrent protection feature may be integrated into a controller for the electric vehicle supply circuit, or it may be operate independently of the controller.

A second surge suppressor in series with a second thermal cutoff device is between the phase conductor and a ground conductor. A third surge suppressor is in series with a low temperature thermal cutoff device between the neutral conductor and the ground conductor. The thermal cutoff temperature of the low temperature thermal cutoff device is lower than the thermal cutoff temperature of the first thermal cutoff device.

摘要: In one embodiment, an electric vehicle charging system includes a pilot conductor arranged to disconnect from an electric vehicle supply circuit before a power conductor when a cord disengages from an enclosure under excessive strain. In another embodiment, an electric vehicle charging system includes an enclosure having a breakaway portion. A strain relief engages the cord with the breakaway portion of the enclosure, and the breakaway portion is adapted to disengage from the enclosure when the cord is subjected to excessive strain.

摘要: A system may include an occupancy sensor and an interface to couple the occupancy sensor to equipment that may perform a power reduction operation in response to the occupancy sensor. Another system may include an occupancy sensor and a switch to control power to equipment in response to the occupancy sensor, where an advance notification is sent to the equipment before the switch interrupts power to the equipment. In one embodiment, the switch may interrupt the power after a time delay from when the advance notification is sent. In another embodiment, the switch may not interrupt the power until a response to the advance notification is confirmed.
