Abstract:
A method, apparatus, system, and signal-bearing medium that, in an embodiment, receive service data at a computer system from an RFID tag, where the service data was sent to the RFID tag from an RF transmitter while the computer system was powered off. The RFID tag includes tag memory and an antenna, and the RFID tag is attached to the computer system. In another embodiment, the computer system sends the service data to the RFID tag, and the service data is received by an RF scanner from the RFID tag via the antenna while the computer system is powered off. In various embodiments, the service data identifies the computer system or a product within the computer system. In another embodiment, the service data includes log information associated with the computer system. In this way, in an embodiment, service data associated with a computer system, such as vital product service data and log information may be accessed and updated even while the computer system is powered off.
Abstract:
A time-phased reutilization of configured products is provided. Partially configured products are detected. Each partially configured product is analyzed to determine if the partially configured product is a valid partially configured product, suitable for being modified into other configurations. A time phased management process is applied to the valid partially configured product.
Abstract:
A label that can display information that is electronically written to the label is used instead of a traditional printed paper label on an electronic product. The label itself is made from any suitable material that can be electronically written that will maintain the last display state when power is removed from the label. The preferred embodiments include a memory that includes product information on the electronic product, along with a label interface that reads the product information from the memory and displays corresponding information on the label. The label interface monitors the product information in the memory, and anytime the product information changes, the label interface automatically writes the changed product information to the label. The result is a label for an electronic product that is automatically updated each time the electronic product changes to reflect the current state of the electronic product.

Abstract:
An audio or video enhancement module incorporates advanced audio enhancement effects. These advanced effects cover a wide range including but not limited to 3D audio spatialization (virtualization) and transient enhancement. The device is configured for receiving an audio input signal, in analog or digital form, enhancing the received signal, and transmitting an output audio signal having the enhanced effects embedded in the signal. The output signal may be either digital or audio. Further, the output signal may be a mono signal, a stereo signal, a MIDI signal, or a multichannel signal (such as 2.1, 5.1, 7.1, etc.). User input to the module is provided to control the amount of audio enhancement.
Abstract:
In general, the disclosure relates to techniques for identifying a reduced set of remediation actions that are to be performed by a network endpoint to achieve compliance with a security policy defined by a network entity. One example method comprises receiving integrity data via a network from a network endpoint, performing a plurality of tests on the integrity data to generate corresponding test results, identifying a set of remediation actions based upon the test results, and comparing the remediation actions in the set. The method further comprises eliminating at least one remediation action in the set based upon the comparison to form a reduced set of remediation actions, and sending the reduced set of remediation actions to the network endpoint, wherein each remediation action in the reduced set specifies an action to be performed by the network endpoint to achieve compliance with a security policy.
Abstract:
In an improved quick disconnect coupling comprised of operator-actuated coupler and nipple assemblies, the former including an actuating sleeve, with the coupled assemblies having first and second sealing assemblies respectively, wherein the improvement comprises, in combination, that each of the sealing assemblies includes, in addition to the known torodial sealing element, a first non-continuous metallic backup ring and a second non-metallic backup ring interposed between the torodial sealing element and the first backup ring, both backup rings being of generally truncated triangular shape, in cross section; and a metallic insulating sleeve, surrounding the actuating sleeve while being substantially fully radially spaced therefrom, via a peripheral air gap, except for a band portion at one end thereof, this band being interference-fitted on a corresponding portion of the actuating sleeve and including a plurality of axially-extending, spaced, scalloped recesses defining an additional insulating air space and having spaced boundaries that provide surfaces for the interference-fitting.

Abstract:
A method, apparatus and computer program product are provided for implementing enhanced system behavior control in a computer system. A system behavior control tool is attached to a computer system during power on or runtime. The attachment of the system behavior control tool causes predefined default behaviors to be overridden and changed based upon the detection of the attached system behavior control tool. At least one predefined setting from the attached system behavior control tool is applied to the computer system. At applying the least one predefined setting to the computer system, then the computer system is rebooted.
