    摘要: An apparatus is configured to perform a method for selecting a cell to increase transmission capacity in a wireless communication system. A Mobile Station (MS) can select a cell in a heterogeneous network system. The MS can receive a loading indicator for each of a plurality of Base Stations (BS); measure signal strength information for each of the BSs; and select one of the BSs using the loading indicator and the signal strength information. Therefore, the transmission efficiency of the system can be increased.

    摘要: An apparatus and a method for reducing delay during beam alignment in a beamformed wireless communication system are provided. A method for selecting a beam pattern in a Base Station (BS) includes determining whether a direction finding signal is received through each time interval of a direction finding channel, transmitting information of whether the direction finding signal is received with respect to each time interval of the direction finding channel, changing a receive beam pattern and receiving a random access signal from a Mobile Station (MS) with at least one transmit beam pattern over a random access channel, and selecting one of transmit beam patterns of the MS and one of receive beam patterns of the BS according to the random access signal.

    摘要: A method and an apparatus for obtaining synchronization of a terminal for communication between devices when a base station collapses are provided. The method includes, when a preamble signal is not received from the base station, maintaining a first synchronization for a predetermined time using a timer, transmitting a first preamble signal at a first synchronization point, performing a synchronization procedure with at least one neighbor terminal based on the first preamble signal, and, after the synchronization procedure, performing communication with the at least one neighbor terminal. In addition, when a preamble signal is not received from a base station, a first preamble signal from a relevant neighbor terminal is monitored for a predetermined time. When the first preamble signal is not received from the relevant neighbor terminal for the predetermined time, a second preamble signal is transmitted at an arbitrary point.

A method of operating a Mobile Station (MS) includes receiving a group configuration message from a Base Station (BS), wherein the group configuration message includes an N-bit first bitmap for indicating that M resource sizes are supported in the group among N resource sizes supported for group resource allocation, where M is less than N, and receiving a group resource allocation message from the BS, wherein the group resource allocation message includes a second bitmap for indicating a size of a resource allocated to a corresponding MS among MSs for which resource allocation is determined.
