The mobile terminal includes a touch screen displaying at least one item and a scroll bar that receives a first touch signal for renewing at least one of the at least one item and displaying the item, and a controller changing the appearance of the scroll bar when receiving a second touch signal for selecting at least one of the item and moving the selected item to the scroll bar. When a touch signal for moving an item to the scroll bar is input, the display state of the scroll bar is changed, and thus it is possible to easily indicate whether an item is selected without setting an additional region.
