    Abstract: The present invention provides a self-healing biocompatible elastomer comprising polymeric chains comprising units of formula (A1), wherein R1 is selected from the group consisting of a linear (C2-C20) alkylene and —R4-S—S—R4′-, wherein R4 and R4′ are independently a linear (C1-C10) alkylene; R2 is a linear or cyclic (C4-C10) alkylene; and R3 is selected from the group consisting of a polybutadiene, a polybutene, a polyethylene, a polypropylene, and a polyisoprene, wherein the elastomer is crosslinked by hydrogen bonds between urethane linkages. Further provided is a one-pot method for preparing a self-healing biocompatible elastomer. The invention further provides an antibacterial composition and a wound dressing comprising the self-healing biocompatible elastomer. Formula (A1)

    Abstract: The present invention provides a vapor-permeable flexible sensing platform unit comprising: a first porous membrane, wherein said membrane is substantially flexible and hydrophobic; and a volatile organic compounds (VOCs) sensor disposed on said membrane, the VOCs sensor comprising an electrode array and a conducting polymer porous film being in electric contact with said electrode array, wherein the VOCs sensor is insensitive to lateral strain. Further provided are a method of preparation of said platform unit and a lift-off, float-on (LOFO) method for the preparation of protonically doped polyaniline (PANI) thin films.

    Abstract: The present invention provides a solution-processable self-healing hydrolytically stable elastomer, a method for the preparation thereof, and articles of manufacture comprising the elastomer. The elastomer comprises polymeric chains comprising units of formula (A1), wherein R is a polybutadiene-containing polyurethane; R1 and R1′ are independently selected from the group consisting of: —H, (C1-C20)alkyl, (C5-C14)aryl, —OR4, —(CO)R5, —O(CO)R6, —(SO)R7, CO—R8, —COOR9, —NO2, and halogen; R2, R2′, R3 and R3′ are independently selected from the group consisting of: —H, (C1-C20)alkyl, and (C5-C14)aryl; R4 to R9 are the same or different, and are independently selected from the group consisting of: —H, (C1-C20)alkyl, and (C5-C14)aryl; m is 4; wherein the elastomer is dynamically crosslinked by aromatic disulfide metathesis, and wherein the elastomer has a water contact angle of above 100 #.
