Abstract: An exhaust system including a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) component and an oxidation catalyst component. The exhaust system also includes an exhaust treatment fluid injection system for dispersing an exhaust treatment fluid into an exhaust stream at a location adjacent either the SCR component or the oxidation catalyst component, wherein the exhaust treatment fluid injection device includes a common rail that provides the exhaust treatment fluid under pressure to a plurality of injectors that dose the exhaust treatment fluid into the exhaust stream. The exhaust treatment fluid injection device also includes a return rail for returning unused exhaust treatment fluid to the fluid source. Each of the common rail and return rail can be configured to allow drainage of the exhaust treatment fluid as a freeze-protection feature.

Abstract: An injector for injecting a reagent includes a first injector body and a second injector body. The first injector body includes an outlet opening. The second injector body includes a reagent tube. The second injector body is movable relative to the first injector body. The injector further includes a valve assembly at least partly enclosed by the first injector body. The valve assembly is configured to selectively dispense the reagent through the outlet opening of the first injector body. The injector further includes a spring member positioned between the first injector body and the second injector body. The spring member is pre-loaded to bias the second injector body towards the first injector body. The spring member is further configured to limit a maximum movement of the second injector body relative to the first injector body in response to expansion of the reagent during freezing.

Abstract: An injector includes an injector body having an upper portion defining a top surface. An injector core is received through the upper portion. The injector core has an interfacing surface that is disposed adjacent and raised with respect to the top surface. A cover member is disposed on the upper portion of the injector body. The cover member has a top wall disposed proximal to the top surface of the injector body and defining an aperture for receiving the injector core therethrough, a side wall extending from the top wall, and a lip that is disposed at an end of the side wall. The lip is adapted to be attached to a circumferential wall of the injector body through a snap-fit connection. Upon attachment, the top wall presses on the interfacing surface of the injector core to restrict an axial movement of the injector core relative to the injector body.

Abstract: An exhaust after-treatment system includes an exhaust treatment component, a tank for holding an exhaust treatment fluid, and an exhaust treatment fluid dosing system. The dosing system includes a fluid distributor providing exhaust treatment fluid under pressure to a plurality of dosing modules that dose exhaust treatment fluid into the exhaust stream and a return for returning unused exhaust treatment fluid to the tank. A valve is positioned between the fluid distributor and the return and is configured to allow a flow of exhaust treatment fluid from the return to the fluid distributor before being returned to the tank during a purge operation. A controller is configured to open the valve and allow communication between the return and the fluid distributor during the purge operation such that unused exhaust treatment fluid drains during the purge operation.
