Abstract: An apparatus includes: a processor; and memory coupled to or included with the processor. The memory stores instructions that, when executed, cause the processor to: obtain an image; perform color palette cluster analysis on the image based on an initial set of colors, luminance sorting, and a target number of palettes; produce a compressed set of color palette keys responsive to the color palette cluster analysis; and output a compressed image based on the compressed set of color palette keys.
