Abstract: The invention relates to a method and a device for estimating an angle of arrival of an incident radio signal in relation to a predetermined reference direction by using a set of N receiving paths comprising at least one directional antenna pointing in N different receiving directions, wherein only one sub-set of at least two receiving paths with adjacent antenna directions in said set of antennas delivers a measured power at reception.
The device comprises modules suitable for: determining a number of receiving paths delivering a measured power forming said sub-set, and a reference index corresponding to a first receiving path in a direction in which extends the set of antenna directions of said sub-set; selecting the measured powers and obtaining a value to attribute to the non-measured powers to form a completed power signal; by applying a discrete Fourier transform (DFT) to said completed power signal, calculating at least one transformed value among the transformed values corresponding to a first, second, and third frequency line of the DFT; and, using the transformed value(s), applying an estimator of the angle of arrival, depending on the reference index.-

Abstract: A device for the radio stimulation of an antenna includes at least one transmission sub-assembly formed by an array of radiating elements and an array of photoelectric receivers; as well as a generator that synthesizes a set of electrical signals that are intended to excite each radiating element. The electrical signals are transmitted to the transmission sub-assembly in the form of modulated light waves that are multiplexed to form a composite laser beam that illuminates the array of photoelectric receivers. Each of the photoelectric receivers receives a light wave. The array of photoelectric sensors and the array of radiating elements have substantially identical arrangements. Each photoelectric receiver is connected to a radiating element in its array at a position identical to the one that said receiver occupies within its own or a position symmetrical thereto.

Abstract: A stimulation device notably for testing radio reception devices is provided. It includes a signal generator delivering an amplitude-phase law for beam-forming purposes, transmitted in the form of a composite laser beam which illuminates a matrix of photodiodes of an emission subassembly with active modules separate from the generator, each wavelength of the beam carrying one of the signals defining the amplitude-phase law, intended for an active module. The device comprises means for measuring the orientation of the composite laser beam relative to the matrix of photodiodes of the emission subassembly and the distance traveled by the beam thereto, and correcting the phase law generated by the signal generator so as to neutralize the stray phase-shifts induced by these parameters on the signals transmitted to the emission subassembly.

Abstract: Methods for locating electromagnetic pulse emission sources in an environment including reflectors is disclosed. In one aspect, the method includes receiving, by a detector, for each source to be located, at least one same emitted pulse, received directly from said source and received by reflection on one of the reflectors. The method also includes identifying direct subsets and reflected subsets, regrouping by pairs of direct subsets with reflected subsets, calculating, for each pair, differences in dates of arrival between the pulses of the reflected subset and the pulses of the direct subset of the pair, and determining the distance of each source from the detector from calculated differences in dates of arrival of the pulses of each pair.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for locating sources emitting electromagnetic pulses, each source belonging to a carrier platform, the method comprising the following steps: receiving, by a detector, for each source to be located, at least one same emitted pulse, received directly and received by reflection on the carrier platform of another source, measuring the arrival direction, the arrival date and at least one invariant characteristic of each received pulse. The method further comprises the following steps: grouping together a first pair of pulses and a second pair of pulses, calculating the difference of dates of arrival between the pulses of each pair, determining the direction and the distance of each source from the detector from calculated differences of dates of arrival of the pulses of each pair.
