Abstract: An atom chip (Ach) for an ultra-cold atom sensor, the atom chip includes a first pair of waveguides, a second pair of waveguides, the projections of the guides along X and the guides along Y′ in the plane XY forming, at their intersection, a first parallelogram with a centre O and having a first surface, a first conductive strip and a second conductive strip arranged such that their respective projection in the plane XY forms, at their intersection, a second parallelogram also with a centre O and having a second surface, the strips being designed to be flowed through by DC currents, an intersection between the first and the second surface being greater than or equal to 40% of the first surface.

Abstract: A laser-source assembly that is configured to illuminate a vacuum chamber containing atoms in the gaseous state so as to implement a cold-atom inertial sensor, the atoms having at least two fundamental levels that are separated by a fundamental frequency difference comprised between 1 and a few gigahertz, the assembly comprises: a master laser that emits a beam having a master frequency; a first control loop that is configured to stabilize the master frequency of the master laser on a frequency corresponding to half a set frequency of an atomic transition between a fundamental level and an excited level of the atoms; a slave laser that has a slave frequency; and a second control loop that is configured to stabilize the slave frequency of the slave laser with respect to the master frequency, the slave frequency being offset with respect to the master frequency successively, over time, by a first preset offset value, a second preset offset value, and a third preset offset value, the offset values being comprised in an interval equal to half the fundamental frequency difference plus or minus a few hundred MHz.

Abstract: A cooling system for a cold-atom sensor, this system includes a two-dimensional cooling chamber, called the 2D chamber (Ch2D), kept under ultra-high vacuum and placed at least partially inside an integrating cylinder (IC) having a Z-axis, the integrating cylinder being configured to illuminate the 2D chamber with a first isotropic light (IL1), the 2D chamber comprising atoms to be cooled, a three-dimensional cooling chamber, called the 3D chamber (Ch3D), kept under ultra-high vacuum and joined to the 2D chamber by an aperture (Op) configured to allow the atoms to pass from the 2D chamber to the 3D chamber via movement substantially along the Z-axis, the 3D chamber being placed at least partially inside an integrating sphere (IS), the integrating sphere being configured to illuminate the 3D chamber with a second isotropic light (IL2).

Abstract: Ultra-cold atom sensor for measuring a rotational velocity along a measurement axis comprises: means designed to generate a first and a second ultra-cold atom trap, one trap making it possible to immobilize a cloud of ultra-cold atoms in an internal state different from the other trap, at a predetermined distance from the measurement plane, the means comprising, at least one first and one second waveguide that are designed to propagate microwaves with angular frequencies ωa and ωb, the waveguides being non-secant and positioned symmetrically about an axis called the axis of symmetry, conductive wires integrated into the chip and designed to be flowed through by DC currents, the means being configured to modify the energy of the ultra-cold atoms in such a way as to create a potential minimum for the ultra-cold atoms in the internal state |a> and a potential minimum for the ultra-cold atoms in the internal state |b>, thus forming the first and second ultra-cold atom traps, and to move the traps along a closed path, traveled in one direction by the ultra-cold atoms of the first trap and in the opposite direction by the ultra-cold atoms of the second trap.
