    Abstract: A method and apparatus for determining the position of a laser scanner using one or more optical targets, each arranged at a known point. The apparatus includes: a ground control point position obtaining part which obtains information of arrangement positions of multiple optical reflection targets; a laser scanner approximate position data obtaining part which obtains an approximate position of a laser scanner; a laser scanning data obtaining part which obtains data of multiple luminescent points; a processing objective point extracting part which extracts multiple luminescent points having luminance exceeding a specific threshold value; and a laser scanner position calculating part which gives data of the arrangement position of the optical reflection target to each of the extracted multiple luminescent points so as to calculate position of the laser scanner.

    Abstract: A technique for solving problems in laser scanning related to intense light that is reflected back from a reflector target is provided. A laser scanning control device for controlling laser scanning performed by a laser scanning apparatus includes a controller, a distance acquisition unit, and a light controller. The controller executes first laser scanning and second laser scanning. The first laser scanning is performed under conditions in which a detector of the laser scanning apparatus is saturated by light reflected back from each of reflection prisms. The second laser scanning is performed under conditions in which saturation of the detector of the laser scanning apparatus does not occur. The distance acquisition unit acquires distances to the reflection prisms based on the first laser scanning. The light controller adjusts intensity of light to be detected in the second laser scanning, based on the distances to the reflection prisms.

    Abstract: Scanning density of laser scanning is increased at low cost. A laser scanning apparatus includes a horizontal rotation unit and a controller. The horizontal rotation unit determines an area of laser scanning. The controller controls rotation of the horizontal rotation unit. The horizontal rotation unit is rotated while the laser scanning is performed, whereby scanning using laser scanning light is performed in a vertical angle direction at a predetermined interval. The controller makes the horizontal rotation unit repeatedly rotate multiple times in angular ranges that partially overlap one another, in order to perform the laser scanning multiple times on areas of the laser scanning that overlap one another. Start positions of the rotation of multiple times of the horizontal rotation unit are successively shifted by a predetermined amount. The predetermined amount of shifting corresponds to a distance shorter than the predetermined interval.

    Abstract: A distance measuring device is provided at low cost. The distance measuring device includes an avalanche photodiode, a TIA, and damping circuits. The avalanche photodiode detects pulsed light that is reflected from an object to be measured. The TIA is an amplifier circuit that converts electric current output from the avalanche photodiode into a voltage signal. The damping circuits and are arranged in a rear stage of the TIA and convert pulse signals into signals with a damped oscillation waveform. The signal path from the avalanche photodiode to the TIA allows a direct current signal to pass therethrough.

    Abstract: A circuit configured to emit pulsed light includes a voltage generating circuit, a light emitting element, a circuit wiring that connects the voltage generating circuit and the light emitting element, a charge capacitor with its end connected to the circuit wiring, and a switching element configured to be turned on or off to apply voltage to the light emitting element. The inductance component for the circuit wiring is derived based on a relationship of the pattern length, pattern width and pattern thickness of the circuit wiring. In this manner, an inductance value of not greater than 1.4 nH can be set and suitably used for achieving an attenuation of at or below 3 dB in a circuit emitting light at a pulse width of 2 ns or less.
