Abstract:
A tool body having an insert seat and a cutting tool which allow a cutting insert to be stably held are provided. A tool body according to the present invention is a tool body having an insert seat for mounting a cutting insert on the tool body, wherein the insert seat has a base surface and a side wall surface which extends so as to intersect with the base surface. The base surface has a contact surface and a contact projected part which come into contact with the cutting insert. A contact part of the contact surface is comprised of a surface, and a contact part of the contact projected part has a linear shape or a point shape.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a tool body provided with at least one insert seat. The insert seat comprises a bottom wall surface and a side wall surface. The side wall surface comprises a first side wall surface and a second side wall surface. The first side wall surface comprises at least two surface portions. The first surface portion is a curved surface in a recessed shape, and the second surface portion is a curved surface in a recessed shape having a greater curvature radius than that of the first surface portion or a flat surface. The two surface portions both come into contact with a cutting insert.
Abstract:
A cutting insert has first and second end surfaces, a peripheral side surface, a reference central axis A perpendicular to and passing through the two surfaces, and a cutting edge having at least one circular-arc-shaped cutting edge. A contact surface portion is formed in the second end surface. The arc-shaped cutting edge is part of virtual circle having a center E which is spaced apart from the central axis A. A longitudinal plane B includes the central axis A and the center E; a median plane C perpendicular to the central axis A passes midway between the two end surfaces; and a virtual plane D perpendicular to both the longitudinal plane B and the median plane C, intersects the circular-arc-shaped cutting edge and traverses the contact surface portion. In a cross-section along the virtual plane D, the contact surface portion is inclined relative to the median plane C.
Abstract:
There is provided a cutting insert which is capable of cutting by using either one of both surfaces and is stably supported by a tool body. Each of a first end surface and a second end surface of a cutting insert includes a first inclined surface which is inclined from a diagonal line by which a corner portion connecting a first peripheral side surface and a second peripheral side surface and a corner portion connecting a third peripheral side surface and a fourth peripheral side surface are joined toward a corner portion connecting the first peripheral side surface and the fourth peripheral side surface such that a distance to an imaginary plane decreases, and a second inclined surface which is inclined from the diagonal line toward a corner portion connecting the second peripheral side surface and the third peripheral side surface such that a distance to the imaginary plane decreases.
Abstract:
A cutting insert including a first end surface, a second end surface and a peripheral side surface extending therebetween. The first and second end surfaces each having one substantially quadrangular portion and two substantially semicircular portions which are respectively joined to two opposing sides of the substantially quadrangular portion. An intersecting edge between each of the first and second end surfaces and the peripheral side surface is provided with a cutting edge. The cutting edge is formed in at least part of the substantially semicircular portion. At least part of a portion of the peripheral side surface which is adjacent to the substantially quadrangular portion of each of the first and second end surfaces, and at least part of a portion of the peripheral side surface which is adjacent to the substantially semicircular portion, each have a function of coming into contact with an insert seat.
Abstract:
A cutting insert has an upper surface (21), a lower surface (91) and a side surface (61) that connects the two surfaces. A cutting edge is formed at an intersecting edge between the upper surface (21) and the side surface (61). The cutting edge includes at least a major cutting edge (33), a corner edge (34) connected to the major cutting edge (33), and a curved wiper edge (35) located on the opposite side of the major cutting edge (33) across the corner edge (34). A first angle θ made by the major cutting edge (33) and the chord of the wiper edge (35) is 155°≦θ
Abstract:
The present invention provides a cutting insert 10 which is mounted on an indexable rotating tool E comprising a body B that rotates about a predetermined rotational axis AX. The cutting insert 10 comprises an upper surface 10a, a lower surface 10b and a peripheral side surface. The cutting insert 10 further comprises an inner cutting edge 10g and a corner cutting edge 10f. A top part S, which has the maximum distance from the lower surface 10b, is located on the corner cutting edge 10f.
