    摘要: In a plasma display device and a driving method thereof, a switch for applying a voltage rising waveform to a scan electrode during an idle period and a first period is coupled between the scan electrode and a power source. The switch applies the voltage rising waveform having a first slope by being repeatedly turned on/off according to a first control signal during the idle period, and/or the switch applies the voltage rising waveform having a second slope (having a higher gradient than the first slope) by being repeatedly turned on/off according to a second control signal during the first period. As such, the scan electrode voltage is increased with the first slope during the idle period to perform a more stable reset operation. Also, when the idle period does not exist, the voltage of the scan electrode is increased within the first period to enable a normal reset operation.

    摘要: This invention is related to the calibration apparatus and method for compensating the phase characteristics in the receiving and transmitting signal paths of array antenna system, especially adaptive array antenna system operating as the base station system. The objective of this invention is to provide the calibration apparatus and method for the array antenna system to be able to compensate its phase differences or irregularities without any restrictions on the array structure or position of additional antenna or antenna toplogies while the array antenna system is in its operational mode such that the signals used by the subscribers are received or transmitted together with the signals used for the calibration. In this invention the phase delay between the additional antenna element and each of the antenna elements of the array antenna system is measured in advance of the calibration procedure to be used when the phase differences or irregularities are measured during the calibration procedure. The test signals used for the calibration is distinguishable from the signals used by the subscribers. Furthermore, each of the transmitting calibration signals itself is distinguishable from one another when the plural transmitting signal paths are to be calibrated simultaneously.

    摘要: This invention relates to a signal processing method and apparatus for an adaptive array antenna. The objective is to suggest an adaptive procedure of computing the suboptimal weight vector for an array antenna system that provides a beampattern having its maximum gain along the direction of the mobile target signal source in a blind signal environment, where the transmitted data are not known (or not to be estimated) at the receiver. It is the ultimate goal of this invention to suggest a practical way of enhancing both the communication quality and communication capacity through the optimal weight vector of the array system that maximizes SINR(Signal to Interference+Noise Ratio). In order to achieve this goal, the method of Lagrange multiplier is modified in such a way that the suboptimal weight vector is produced with the computational load of about O(8N), which has been found to be small enough for the real-time processing of signals in most land mobile communications with the digital signal processor (DSP) off the shelf, where N denotes the number of antenna elements of the array.
