    摘要: An improved tape cartridge with increased tape capacity comprises a cartidge housing including a base plate which has two portions. The two portions connect with each other to form at least one corner portion. At least one guide is located adjacent the one corner portion such that the tape web is held out of interference with the one corner portion. A driven roller is positioned such that a straight line drawn through the driven roller passes between axes of rotation of two tape packs mounted on the base plate and extends perpendicular with a straight line extending through the axes of rotation of the tape packs.

    摘要: A tape cassette receiving housing comprises a housing proper portion and a lid portion which is fixed to the housing proper portion through a hinge portion so as to enable to be opened or closed. Shaft portions are formed so as to penetrate into reel driving holes of a supply reel and a take-up reel of a tape cassette received in the housing proper portion. Elastic bodies are attached to outer peripheries of the shaft portions, and the elastic bodies are brought into contact with inner peripheral surfaces of reel driving holes. According to the above construction, a tape cassette is fixed in the tape cassette receiving housing so as not to incline the tape cassette and not to rotate the supply reel and the take-up reel.

    摘要: A tape cassette is provided which has indicia indicating the characteristics of the tape contained therein. In one embodiment an information discriminating mark, capable of being optically sensed is provided on the magnetic tape. Fluctuations in the transmittance of the tape are detected by a photodetector device and a difference in the detected output is utilized for identifying the type of the tape cassette. In another embodiment, the bottom surface of the tape cassette is provided with physical indicia indicating the characteristics of the tape contained therein.

    摘要: A magnetic recording medium including a non-magnetic base and a magnetic layer thereon which contains and/or is coated with an organopolysiloxane having an average unit with the formula: exhibits(CH.sub.3)(RO).sub.n (R'COO).sub.m SiO.sub.(3-n-m)/2wherein R is a monovalent hydrocarbon group having from 1 to 5 carbon atoms, R' is an aliphatic monovalent hydrocarbon group having from 7 to 17 carbon atoms; n is zero or a positive number, m is a positive number with the proviso that n + m is less than 3 and the number of Si atoms in a molecule of such organopolysiloxane ranges from 2 to 8. Magnetic recording medium containing such organopolysiloxane material exhibit a substantially reduced dynamic friction coefficient and a substantially reduced tendency of the magnetic layer to lose magnetic particles, along with an improved splicing-ability.
