摘要： A printing apparatus comprising a stationary frame structure having accommodated therewithin a plurality of printing hammers arranged in a row, a tiltable support structure positioned in front of the frame structure and rotatable about an axis fixed on the frame structure, a type carrier movable on the support structure partially along a straight travelling path extending in parallel with the row of the printing hammers and forming an elongated clearance between the travelling path and the row of the printing hammers, position retaining means for holding the support structure in an inoperative position having the travelling path of the type carrier spaced wider apart from the row of the printing hammers, clearance adjusting means for minutely adjusting the above mentioned clearance depending upon the thickness of the printing sheet or sheets to be printed at a time, and cam means providing a mechanical and functional intervention between the position retaining and clearance adjusting means.

摘要： A nozzle wiping apparatus comprises an ink-absorbent sheet placed below the ink discard hole to collect the sucked ink discarded through the ink discard hole and an ink absorbent sheet winding mechanism to wind up the ink-absorbent sheet. The ink-absorbent sheet is kept in contact with a part of the nozzles after completion of the purging operation so the nozzles may be moved relative to the ink-absorbent sheet to thereby wipe ink deposited on the nozzles.

摘要： In a printing apparatus having a platen, a plurality of print hammers arranged in a horizontal row and a horizontally movable type carrier on which print carriers are arranged, a restraining member limits upward movement of a horizontally movable ink ribbon and thereby eliminates character omission. Between the print hammers and the type carriers are disposed the horizontally movable ink ribbon and a vertically movable print sheet on which a character impression is made upon impact of a selectively energized hammer. The print sheet is folded along transverse cut lines to define forms which are stacked together below the apparatus. When the print sheet is pulled upwardly, the folded portion tends to drag the ink ribbon upwardly displacing the ribbon from its print position. The restraining member is mounted above the ink ribbon to limit this upward movement of the ribbon.

摘要： A mechanism for preventing the skew of a cut paper sheet, for use in a duplex printing machine or a paper reversing mechanism having a switchback mechanism for switching the cut sheet backward from its trailing end by reverse rollers and so on immediately after the cut sheet subjected to the printing at a printing portion is once discharged onto a reverse plate by paper discharge rollers and so on, the mechanism comprising: a plurality of paper guides formed on a surface of the reverse plate of the switchback mechanism so as to limit the lateral movement of the cut sheets of several kinds in the direction of the width thereof, the paper guides being arranged in a manner to correspond respectively to the widths of the cut sheets of several kinds to be discharged onto the reverse plate, the distance between each two paper guides for guiding a respective one of the cut sheets being slightly greater than the width of the corresponding cut sheet, and the paper guide for guiding the wider cut sheet being higher than the paper guide for guiding the narrower cut sheet, whereby each of the cut sheets discharged onto the reverse plate is guided by the corresponding paper guides according to the size of the cut sheet, and is switched backward, thereby preventing the skew of the cut sheet.
