摘要: The airbag apparatus is provided with a retainer that includes a hold-down portion for attachment of a periphery of a gas inlet of an airbag to the case, a cover wall surrounding an inflator body, deflectors and catches. The cover wall includes a plurality of outlet ports for releasing inflation gas exited discharge ports of the inflator body radially. The deflectors deflect the inflation gas exited the outlet ports in a range of angle from a direction orthogonal to an axis of the inflator body to a downward direction extending toward the hold-down portion. The catches capture residual particles contained in the inflation gas when the gas deflected by the deflectors hit them.

摘要: The airbag apparatus is provided with a retainer that includes a hold-down portion for attachment of a periphery of a gas inlet of an airbag to the case, a cover wall surrounding an inflator body, deflectors and catches. The cover wall includes a plurality of outlet ports for releasing inflation gas exited discharge ports of the inflator body radially. 摘要: A pedestrian protection system is mounted in the front portion of a vehicle, and includes a controller, a forward movement holding mechanism controlled in actuation by the controller, and a contact body that a pedestrian can contact. The controller, when having predicted a collision of a pedestrian with the vehicle based on a signal from a collision predicting sensor, actuates the forward movement holding mechanism to cause a forward movement of the contact body, and based on a signal from a turn sensor when the forward movement holding mechanism carries out an upward rotation or a downward rotation at the time of contact of the forwardly moved contact body with a pedestrian, controls actuation of the restraint body so as to correspond to a pedestrian moving to a front upper side of the vehicle and a pedestrian moving to a front lower side of the vehicle, respectively.

At a peripheral wall portion (36B) of the upper case (36) is formed a gas ejection hole (76) at a position offset towards an occupant side only by a distance δ from a central position P of a combustion chamber (68). Accordingly, a length (L1) of a flow path from the starting end of the flow path to the gas ejection hole (76) increases, enabling effective heat exchange of a high temperature gas and removal of mist (82). Thereby, a conventionally used filter may be disposed of.

摘要: A conduction breaking device includes a movable member accommodated in an accommodation chamber of a case. A cutter portion projects from an advancing side of the movable member in the moving direction. A gas generator is arranged on the trailing side of the movable member in the moving direction. A conduction member extends to connect a pair of external connection portions and includes a pair of base portions and a breakable portion. The base portions are located in the side wall of the case and extend along the moving direction of the movable member. The breakable portion is shaped to connect the base portions to each other and to block the advancing side of the movable member in the moving direction. Step portions are formed in the breakable portion. Engaging portions that are engageable with the step portions are formed in the case.
