    摘要: Provided is an elastic member for ink jet, including a styrene-based thermoplastic elastomer and a thermoplastic resin, in which the elastic member further includes at least a nonionic surfactant having an ethylene oxide adduct, and the content of the nonionic surfactant is 0.1 to 5 mass % with respect to the styrene-based thermoplastic elastomer. The elastic member has sufficient releasability and high liquid-contact properties, which suppresses clogging of ejection orifices due to precipitation when eluted in ink.

    摘要: Provided is a resin composition which is a material for ink supply tubes and which has excellent moisture barrier performance, air barrier performance, and kink resistance. The resin composition contains a thermoplastic elastomer (A) containing a (b)-(a)-(b)-type isobutylene triblock copolymer containing polymer blocks (a) having isobutylene units and polymer blocks (b) having styrene units and also contains a lubricant (B). The content of the thermoplastic elastomer (A) in the resin composition is 70% to 95% by mass. The content of the lubricant (B) in the resin composition is 5% to 15% by mass. The content of the (b)-(a)-(b)-type isobutylene triblock copolymer in the resin composition is 50% to 95% by mass. The content of the polymer blocks (a) in the (b)-(a)-(b)-type isobutylene triblock copolymer is 80% to 90% by mass. The content of the polymer blocks (b) in the (b)-(a)-(b)-type isobutylene triblock copolymer is 10% to 20% by mass.

    摘要: Multiple grooves are formed along an inclination face of a prism-like part. A pitch of the grooves is smaller than the wavelength of light, specifically infrared light, used as a light source for detecting an ink amount. When sufficient amount of contained ink is consumed to expose the prism-like part, ink on the inclination face is held in the grooves due to their capillary force. At this time, if an amount of the ink exceeds the capacities of the grooves, no capillary force acts on the excessive ink. Accordingly, the excessive ink becomes an ink pool and slides down to an ink surface. Since the face provided with the grooves at the pitch smaller than the wavelength of the detection light source serves as a plane face optically, detection with high reliability is made possible.
