The first abdomen electrode includes a pair of second electrodes and a pair of third electrodes disposed in an alignment direction substantially perpendicular to a cross section of the abdomen. In a case where electric current is applied via the first electrodes, a first potential difference between electrodes of one predetermined pair included in the first abdomen electrode is detected. In a case where electric current is applied via the third electrodes, a second potential difference between the second electrodes is detected. Based on the detected two types of potential differences and physical data of the subject, the visceral fat amount of the subject is calculated.

    摘要: In a body fat measuring apparatus, a constant electric-current is flowed between hand electric-current electrodes and leg electric-current electrodes. From two detected voltages generated between an annular-shaped voltage electrode placed on an abdominal portion and two voltage electrodes placed at the both sides of a lumbar portion, two abdominal impedances are determined. Two electric-current electrodes and two voltage electrodes are placed such that they are spaced apart by a small interval from one another at an umbilicus portion. A constant electric current is flowed between the two electric-current electrodes and the impedance in the vicinity of the subcutaneous of the abdominal portion is determined from the detected voltage generated between the two voltage electrodes. From the two abdominal impedances, the impedance in the vicinity of the subcutaneous of the abdominal portion, and the input physique information, a viscera impedance is calculated.

According to such a configuration, there is obtained a bioelectrical impedance measurement abdomen attachment unit which enables the electrodes to be pressed against the body of the subject with a constant load at satisfactory reproducibility and which is not painful to the subject.

    摘要: In the fat burning value calculating apparatus (6), an electrocardiographic signal is detected (1, 41, 45-47) at the start of exercise, and a heart rate is calculated from the detected value. Further, a power of heart rate variability is calculated, and an AT level is determined from the variability power. Once the AT level is determined, a preset exercise program is executed. A work load during the exercise is detected, and consumed calories are calculated. Thereafter, the electrocardiographic signal during the exercise is detected, the heart rate is calculated from the detected signal, and a fat burning rate during the exercise is calculated. A fat burning amount is calculated from the consumed calories and the fat burning rate, their accumulated values are also calculated, and these values are displayed. As a result, it is possible to provide a fat burning value calculating method and a fat burning value calculating apparatus (6) which ensure accurate calculation of the fat burning rate and the fat burning amount of an individual during exercise, regardless of increase/decrease of exercise intensity.
