    摘要: A process for producing a succinimide resin composition is provided which comprises reacting a maleic anhydride-olefin type copolymer constituted of 40-60 mol % of maleic anhydride units, 60-40 mol % of olefin units, and 0-20 mol % of a copolymerizable monomer units with one or more amine compounds for imide formation in the presence of a second polymer other than the succinimide resin. This process improves the productivity by lowering the torque in the extrusion reaction, giving a succinimide copolymer resin composition having low yellowness and high transparency with high production efficiency.

    摘要: A resin composition is disclosed which comprises:(a) from 1 to 99% by weight of a maleimide-olefin copolymer comprising from 40 to 60 mol % of structural unit (I) shown below and from 60 to 40 mol % of structural unit (II) shown below and having a number-average molecular weight of from 1.times.10.sup.3 to 5.times.10.sup.6 : ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 is hydrogen or an alkyl having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, ##STR2## wherein R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 each is hydrogen or an alkyl having 1 to 6 carbon atoms; and(b) from 99 to 1% by weight of an acrylonitrile-styrene copolymer containing from 21 to 45% by weight of an acrylonitrile units. The composition is excellent in optical properties including transparency and low birefringence and in heat resistance and mechanical properties.

    摘要: Optical compensation layers are provided which have an optically compensating function imparted thereto upon coating fluid application or upon coating fluid application and subsequent uniaxial stretching and which have a small wavelength dependence of retardation.The invention provides: an optical compensation layer wherein the compensation layer is a coating layer comprising a maleimide resin and wherein when two arbitrary axes perpendicular to each other in the plane of the coating layer are referred to as x-axis and y-axis, respectively, and the out-of-plane direction is referred to as z-axis, then the coating layer satisfies the three-dimensional refractive-index relationship nx≈ny>nz, wherein nx is the refractive index in the x-axis direction, ny is the refractive index in the y-axis direction, and nz is the refractive index in the z-axis direction; an optical compensation film which comprises a coating layer (A) comprising a maleimide resin and a stretched-film layer (B); and an optical compensation layer, which is an optical compensation layer obtained by uniaxially stretching a coating layer comprising a maleimide resin, wherein when the direction of stretching axis in the coating layer is referred to as x-axis, the direction perpendicular to the stretching direction is referred to as y-axis, and the out-of-plane direction is referred to as z-axis, then the optical compensation layer satisfies the three-dimensional refractive-index relationship nx4>ny4>nz4,wherein nx4 is the refractive index in the x-axis direction, ny4 is the refractive index in the y-axis direction, and nz4 is the refractive index in the z-axis direction.     摘要: A process for producing a copolymer having succinimide units represented by general formula (I) is provided which comprises reaction of a copolymer constituted of 40-60 mole % of maleic anhydride units, 60-40 mole % of olefin units, and 0-20 mole % of another copolymerizable monomer units with an amine to convert the maleic anhydride units to the succinimide units, wherein the succinimide units are formed by ring-closing imidation in a slurry state in a poor solvent: ##STR1## where R.sub.1 is a hydrogen atom, or an alkyl or cycloalkyl group of 1 to 6 carbons. The copolymer has low yellowness and high transparency.
