摘要： A thermal recording apparatus records information on a thermal recording sheet, the thermal recording sheet having a thermal characteristic by which the information is recorded through heating the thermal recording sheet to a first temperature and information which has been recorded on the thermal recording sheet is erased therefrom by heating the thermal recording sheet to a second temperature. The thermal recording apparatus includes, a thermal head for heating the thermal recording sheet in a pattern, a recording controller for driving the thermal head so that the thermal recording sheet is heated to the first temperature in a pattern corresponding to the information to be recorded, and an erasing controller for supplying thermal energy to the thermal recording sheet on which information has been recorded by using the thermal head so that the thermal recording sheet is heated to the second temperature.

摘要： An image reader has a light source for illuminating an original; a lens array having many convex lenses arranged at an equal interval and converging light reflected on the original; a roof mirror array having roof type reflecting faces arranged at the same interval as the convex lenses and reflecting light transmitted through the lens array; a one-dimensional image sensor for photoelectrically converting the reflected light from the roof mirror array; and light shield plates arranged between the convex lenses of the lens array. In this image reader, it possible to reliably avoid generation of flare caused by light passing around between adjacent convex lenses of the lens array. Further, for example, the quality of a read image can be improved by preventing rise of a black output level, interruption of thin lines of the image, etc.

摘要： A reading device, having both modes of a book scanner and a sheet scanner, to be used in a handling apparatus having a function for selecting a reference white plate. The reading device includes a reading unit, a first reference white plate, which is mounted within an area where an original document is transferred and where therefore dust may be carried and raised thereabouts. The first reference white plate is usually read by the reading unit in the sheet scanner mode. A second reference white plate is mounted out of an area of a transference of an original document, and therefore no dust is carried or raised thereabouts. The reading device further includes a controller which controls the reading unit to suitably select reading a white density from between the first reference white plate and the second reference white plate in accordance with a shading correction situation so as to improve an image output quality.

摘要： An image reading apparatus includes a housing having a bottom plate, a photoelectric conversion element configured to convert an optical signal of light reflected by an original document to an electrical signal, and a circuit board configured to implement a circuit controlling the signal sent from the photoelectric conversion element, wherein the bottom plate of the housing forms a portion thereof facing a lower end portion of the circuit board to protrude outwardly toward a downward direction of the bottom plate of the housing so that the lower end portion of the circuit board is accommodated therein or wherein the bottom plate of the housing includes an opening portion facing the lower end portion of the circuit board so that the lower end portion of the circuit board is protruded from the opening portion in a downward direction of the bottom plate of the housing.
