摘要: The printer 10 executes an ink end detection process A while a print job is underway and an ink end detection process B when a print job has been completed. In the ink end detection process A, the printer 10 applies a first drive signal to detect that the amount of ink housed in the ink cartridge CA is equal to or less than a prescribed amount. In the ink end detection process B, the printer 10 applies a second drive signal to detect that the amount of ink housed in the ink cartridge CA exceeds the prescribed amount.

摘要: The invention provides a liquid consumption apparatus including a liquid consumption unit, a counting unit that counts the amount of the liquid consumed by the liquid consumption unit as a liquid consumption amount, a reception unit that receives a detection signal indicating that the amount of the liquid contained in the liquid container is not more than a predetermined amount; a detection-time liquid amount memory unit that memorizes the liquid consumption amount at the time of reception of the detection signal as a detection-time liquid consumption amount, and a judgment unit that judges that the liquid container is empty when the amount of difference between the liquid consumption amount and the detection-time liquid consumption amount is not more than a specified amount.

摘要: According to one aspect of the invention, a remanufacturing method of a liquid container forms an inlet in a certain area, for example, a buffer chamber, other than a specific section including liquid reservoirs and flow paths adjoining to and directly communicating with a bubble trap flow path in the liquid container. In the state of closing a liquid feeder and opening an air open structure, the remanufacturing method injects a liquid through the inlet to fill a space in the upstream of the inlet with the liquid. In the state of opening the liquid feeder and closing the air open structure, the remanufacturing method injects the liquid through the inlet to fill a space in the downstream of the inlet with the liquid. The remanufacturing process seals the inlet after completion of the injection of the liquid. This arrangement enables the liquid to be refilled into the liquid container without damaging the functions of the liquid container.

摘要: A liquid storage container prevents sucking of air bubbles into a liquid guide path, even when the amount of liquid remaining in the liquid storage chamber is reduced. The amount of liquid discarded, without being used, is reduced. A liquid storage container includes liquid storage chambers from which liquid is guided to a liquid-supplying unit through a liquid guide path and a liquid remaining-amount sensor for detecting the presence/absence of the liquid on the basis of variation in residual vibration that occurs when air bubbles enter the liquid guide path. The liquid storage chambers have concavities in the bottom walls thereof. Liquid outlets that communicate with the liquid guide path are formed at the bottom of the concavities, respectively. Therefore, air layers in the liquid storage chambers are prevented from coming into contact with the liquid outlets, respectively, before the remaining liquid does.
