摘要: The disclosure relates to a method executed in a domain name system (DNS) proxy, and to a DNS proxy, apparatus or system for application server (AS) discovery for edge computing in a mobile network. The method comprises receiving a DNS query from a user equipment (UE) with an application fully qualified domain name (FQDN). Based on FQDN, retrieving a location of the UE that sent the DNS query; adding subnet(s) or full IP address(es) of one or more preferred location for accessing to a data network (DN) as one or more Extension mechanisms for DNS (EDNS) client subnet (ECS) options in the DNS query; forwarding the DNS query to a mobile network operator (MNO) DNS; receiving a DNS response and based on the DNS response determining an AS site and AS IP address(es); requesting traffic steering and sending the DNS response to the UE.

摘要: Transferring context data from a first network functional set, NFS, to another. A method and apparatuses provide for transferring restoration context data from a first NFS toward a second NFS. This method includes receiving, at the first NFS from a context transfer requester, a transfer request indicating transfer of context data toward the second NFS; transmitting, from the first NFS toward a network repository function, NRF, a context transfer request indicating transfer of context data from the first NFS to the second NFS; transmitting, from the NRF toward the first NFS, a context transfer response indicating a status of the first NFS; notifying, from the NRF toward a network function, NF, service consumer, of transfer information related to the transfer of context data from the first NFS to the second NFS; transferring, from the first NFS toward the second NFS, restoration context data; and storing the restoration context data.

摘要: The present invention faces the issues of re-selection of another NF Service instance (103, 201) for a subsequent request (S-520, S-535) with a same data consistency (Consistency 1) as a previously selected NF Service instance (101). To solve this issue, the present invention provides for identifying at configuration, based on the deployment and on the Storage solution for the Session/context data, which instances (101, 103, 201) of the same service type have access with strong consistency to the same data, and provide this information to the consumer (40), so it is allowed to prioritize selection of an alternative NF service instance that supports strong consistency, whenever possible.

摘要: A service controller receives an operation request for a service for a consumer node of a communication network, the operation request including a context identifier referring to a context related to the operation request. The service controller forwards the operation request to a first service instance set being identified by the service controller as handling the context related to the operation request. Responsive to determining that the first service instance set is unreachable or unavailable, the service controller selects a second service instance set as a candidate to handle the context related to the operation request. The operation request for the service is then forwarded to the second service instance set.

摘要: The disclosure relates to a method for handling congestion performed in a source node of a communication network. The communication network provides a communication path for traffic streams between the source node and a destination node, wherein the source node multiplexes two or more different types of traffic streams onto a single connection. The method comprises detecting congestion in the communication network along the communication path, determining whether there is a traffic differentiation in a network node along the communication path, and applying a connection-level congestion control for the case of determining that there is no network node performing traffic differentiation. 摘要: Methods and apparatus for controlling a communication network (2) to deliver traffic to and/or from an end node (4) are presented. In an example method, a network node (8) receives information indicating a user-controllable selection at the end node (4) to have at least some of the end node (4)'s traffic delivered with a low priority level that is lower than a high priority level. Accordingly, the network node (8) controls the communication network to deliver at least some of the end node (4)'s traffic with said low priority level and awards one or more tokens accordingly. Furthermore, the network node (8) may receive information indicating a user-controllable selection at the end node (4) to have at least some traffic delivered with the high priority level. The network node (8) may accordingly redeem one or more tokens awarded to the end node (4) and controlling the communication network (2) to deliver at least some of the traffic with said high priority level.

摘要: Methods and a first node (110), a second node (120) and a network node (130) for managing traffic characteristics of one or more packets on a connection are disclosed. The first node (110) exchanges (303), with the network node (130), traffic characteristic semantics and a common key for encryption of a traffic characteristic value to be applied for the one or more packets on the connection, wherein the traffic characteristic semantics include the traffic characteristic value and an associated characteristic for the one or more packets. Moreover, the first node (110) sends (309) the traffic characteristic value and the common key to the second node (120). The network node (130) checks and applies (312) the traffic characteristics value according to service policies of the network node (130). Next, the first node (110) exchanges (311), with the second node (120), payload which includes one or more packets over the connection. Information about the traffic characteristic value is included in a transport header of each packet carrying the payload.

摘要: A network provides PDU sessions between wireless devices and data networks. UPFs in the network handle the user planes of these PDU sessions, while SMFs in the network manage the PDU sessions. The SMFs have dedicated interfaces for signaling sessions to the UPFs. In the occasion that managing of a PDU session has to be transferred from one SMF to another SMF, the first SMF has to release the signalling session with the UPF for the PDU session, and a second SMF has to re-establish the signaling session with the UPF for the same PDU session. To avoid that during the transfer of the management responsibility transfer the wireless device experiences a hick-up in the PDU session the first SMS includes a control element in the release message to the UPF, indicating to the UPF that the signaling session for the PDU session will be re-established by a second SMF, and that the UPF shall continue the handling of the PDU session till re-establishment.
