    摘要: A user can easily identify the content of data (the value or the state of the data), such as a credit balance, stored in a contactless IC module provided in a wrist-watch device having a communication function. A timepiece control unit 14 of a timepiece module 10 transmits a confirmation command for the data, such as the credit balance, to a contactless IC module 60 every determination cycle period TSP, and receives the data stored in the contactless IC module 60. When the value of the stored data (for example, the amount of balance) becomes smaller than a predetermined value, the timepiece control unit 14 causes a second hand to perform an irregular movement noticeably different from the regular timing movement. Accordingly, the user is able to easily identify the data content (for example, insufficient balance).

    摘要: A hand-held electronic device comprises an IC-card chip unit, a watch CPU, a power source unit, a display unit, and a switch connected between the power source unit and the IC-card chip unit. The watch CPU has a power supply controlling unit. The IC-card chip unit performs contactless data communication with an external transmitter-receiver in close range. The watch CPU operates on power from the power source unit, receives data from the IC-card chip unit to display the data on the display unit or to process the data before displaying them on the display unit. The power supply controlling unit closes a switch at least during the period of time that the watch CPU receives data from the IC-card chip unit, thereby causing power to be supplied from the power source unit to the IC-card chip unit.

The wearable radio communication device receives an image from the mobile telephone device by local radio communication and displays it on the display unit, and picks up an image by the imaging unit and transmits it to the mobile telephone device by local radio communication. The headset receives the voice from the mobile telephone device by local radio communication and outputs it from the voice input/output unit while at the same time transmitting the voice input through the voice input/output unit, to the mobile telephone device by local radio communication.

    摘要: An electronic timepiece with internal antenna maintains sufficiently high reception performance of circularly polarized waves even when having a metal external case. The timepiece has a cylindrical case; a crystal that covers the opening on the face side of the case; a drive mechanism that arranged inside the case; a metal antenna; and a dielectric. The antenna houses the drive mechanism and has a cylindrical side part, a bottom part that covers the opening on the back side of the side part, and an antenna electrode that contacts the inside of the side part. The back cover covers the back side of the case and is also the bottom part. The dielectric extends circumferentially to the side part, and contacts the antenna electrode in the face-back cover direction. A slot extending circumferentially is formed in the antenna electrode. Part or all of the slot is covered by the dielectric.

The reception means includes a signal amplifier unit for amplifying a reception signal representing the received standard time signal; a signal extraction unit for extracting a signal of a specific frequency from the amplified reception signal; a rectifier unit for rectifying the extracted signal of the specific frequency; and a demodulation unit for demodulating the rectified signal of the specific frequency. The signal extraction unit includes a plurality of crystal filters corresponding to the frequencies of the plural standard time signals; a plurality of parallel capacitances corresponding to the plural crystal filters and parallel connected to the plural crystal filters; a filter switching unit for switching the plural crystal filters based on the control signal; and a parallel capacitance switching unit for switching the plural parallel capacitances based on the control signal. The control means outputs to the filter switching unit and the parallel capacitance switching unit a control signal denoting the switch states enabling the reception means to receive the standard time signal.

    摘要: A positioning device has a reception unit for receiving navigation messages transmitted continuously in a time series from positioning information satellites orbiting the Earth and determines the location of the positioning device based on the navigation messages received by the transmission unit. Each navigation message is segmented into a plurality of data transmission blocks that are transmitted sequentially, a portion of the data transmission blocks carry almanac data containing orbital information for all positioning information satellites including the positioning information satellite transmitting the received navigation message, and the data transmission blocks carrying the almanac data are transmitted non-contiguously. The positioning device also has signal discrimination unit for identifying the start of receiving a data transmission block containing the non-contiguously transmitted almanac data, and identifying the end of receiving the data transmission block containing the almanac data. The reception unit intermittently receives the signals of the data transmission blocks containing the almanac data by receiving the navigation messages in the reception time of the data transmission blocks containing the almanac data identified by the signal discrimination unit.
