摘要： There is provided an image data management system that restricts a user's exit depending on the use of image data containing confidential information. An image data management system includes a management server 1, printers 2, gates 3 and 4, and an IC card 6. The printers 2 generate processing information when the user processes the image data, and store the processing information in the IC card 6. When the user is going to exit a managed area A or B, the gate 3 reads user information and the processing information from the IC card 6. The management server 1 determines whether feature information is present in the processing information. If feature information is present, the user's exit is prohibited. A manager's PC 5 is informed of the prohibition.

An output device 1 records in a format information database 12a format information showing an output format including the documentary form of printing, correspondingly to index information showing an event. A user using a requesting device 2 makes the requesting device 2 send the output data to the output device 1 and designate the index information. The output device 1 performs output based on the output data, in the output format shown by designated index information.

摘要： Print is made on a recording paper by running an ink carriage along the supporting axis in a reciprocating motion. The ink carriage includes ink heads respectively provided with a front ink nozzle and a back ink nozzle facing their respective directions, so that print is made simultaneously at two portions on the recording paper along the transportation direction in which the recording paper is transported through a single transportation path one by one. Consequently, there can be provided an ink jet printer which can improve printing efficiency by increasing a printing rate and printing resolution, and realizing printing of an overstrike character, simultaneous printing of mixed information, double-side printing, etc.

The control unit includes: a function setup controller for setting up the image output conditions of output images; and a control-unit side controller having a function of displaying a function setup screen corresponding to the function setup controller, on a display panel. The function setup controller has an additional input mode having a function of reading documents a multiple number of times to form multiple sheaves of documents. The additional input mode includes: an individual setup function of setting up individual image output conditions for each sheaf of documents and an all-in setup function of setting up identical image output conditions for all sheaves of documents. When the additional input mode is set up, the control unit-side controller offers a display of a setup change suggestion of the image output conditions for the next input on the display screen at the stage where the first image data input has been completed.
