An electronic time lock for bank vault doors and the like having a door bolting mechanism including a snubber bar, the time lock including a lock case, an intermediate vertical partition located in said chamber between front and rear walls of the case, the rear wall and intermediate partition having surfaces defining cylindrical guide bores for reciprocating movement of the snubber bar therein. A pair of electric motors are arranged in side-by-side relation on the intermediate partition to drive a blocking member through a pair of drive trains between blocking and release position for blocking the snubber bar against movement to an unlocking position and releasing the snubber bar. A printed circuit board is provided having a solid state visible display strip for displaying programmed instructions and information regarding the state of the time lock aligned with a window in the front wall of the case for viewing of the displayed information therethrough and a plurality of electrical switch program buttons are located on the front wall of the lock case.
Abstract:
A lock bolt release system operable with a door bolt supported by a door providing access to a secure area. A pawl is pivotally mounted on a distal end of a lock bolt, and the pawl is pivoted by operation of the door bolt prior to the lock bolt being movable by the door bolt. A wedge block is movably mounted on the lock bolt and is effective to block motion of the pawl and the door bolt. A stop member is located adjacent the wedge block and blocks motion of the wedge block, thereby preventing the door bolt from being disengaged from the structure. The stop member is movable, which permits the wedge block to be moved by the pawl and the door bolt to contact and move the lock bolt, thus, permitting the door bolt to be disengaged from the structure.

A dead bolt lock system having one or more security locks in conjunction with a dead bolt to provide various levels of security access to a door. An inertia assembly restrains movement of the dead bolt when a shock load is applied to the door, but allows the dead bolt to move when a shock load is not present. The inertia assembly includes an actuator weight and a bolt lock lever that can translate and rotate in response to the application of the shock load. In addition, the inertia assembly includes a return spring that biases the inertia assembly back into its original position for facilitating movement of the dead bolt after the application of the shock load.

A drive apparatus for use with a computerized combination dial lock includes a rotating or longitudinally translating member which imparts motion to an electrical generator for powering the electrical components of the computerized combination dial lock. The drive apparatus is independent of the combination dial of the computerized lock. In one embodiment, the dial ring of the combination dial is rotatable to drive the electrical generation for power output to the computerized lock components. Alternatively, the combination dial and spindle are spring biased for longitudinal translation thereof to drive the electrical generator. In another embodiment, a lever member adjacent the dial ring or a key inserted in a keyway is rotated for powering the computerized lock. In yet another embodiment, a portable power source is in the form of a key and a portable power source contained therein. The key is designed to engage a keyway mounted in or adjacent the combination dial lock assembly to provide power to the electrical components therein. The power source can include a battery or solar power, or be developed by mechanical energy.

Generally, the lock system tests the condition of the security lock or locks before allowing retraction of the dead bolt. An inside escape lever is provided as a life safety feature to allow egress from the secured area regardless of the conditions of the security locks. A trigger hold back device maintains the dead bolt in a retracted position until the door has been opened and closed again. Lock covers include associated locked-on-by-combination and relock features. A night latch or lock down feature is provided to prevent access, including authorized access through the outside of the lock system. A force blocking assembly is provided to prevent force applied to the dead bolt from harming internal components of the system. A torque override clutch prevents excessive torque applied to the outside door handle from harming internal lock system components.

The present invention includes a welding jig having a first support plate and a second support plate rotatably connected to the first support plate. The second support plate has a template-shaped perimeter including arcuately shaped segments shaped to support pipe fittings of different sizes. By selectively positioning a particular segment and securing locking the particular segment in place, a particular pipe fitting such as a particular 90.degree. pipe elbow can be supported with one end resting on the selected particular segment and the other end resting on the first support plate. By this arrangement, particular pipe fitting can be supported in a predetermined and square position relative to a pipe, thus facilitating welding the particular pipe elbow to the pipe. This allows substantially a one-person welding operation.
