摘要: A dead bolt lock system having one or more security locks in conjunction with a dead bolt to provide various levels of security access to a door. An inertia assembly restrains movement of the dead bolt when a shock load is applied to the door, but allows the dead bolt to move when a shock load is not present. The inertia assembly includes an actuator weight and a bolt lock lever that can translate and rotate in response to the application of the shock load. In addition, the inertia assembly includes a return spring that biases the inertia assembly back into its original position for facilitating movement of the dead bolt after the application of the shock load.

摘要: A method and apparatus for providing a storm door mortise lock that prevents lockout with a lock body having opposed side plates and a cam in between the side plates, the cam being in operative interaction with a dead bolt assembly. The mortise lock body also may include one or more stops within the deadbolt assembly to limit the rotation of the cam and prevent a lockout situation. A thumb turn button and key cylinder are secured to opposite escutcheon plates. A spindle traverses from the key cylinder through the cam through hole and terminates in the mounting slot of the thumb turn button. Rotation of either the thumb turn button or the key cylinder turns the spindle and actuates the cam that actuates the dead bolt assembly.

摘要: A slidebolt lock, with slidebolt displacement forces provided by a mechanism outside the lock assembly and acting on the slidebolt, is locked by a blocking member carried by the slidebolt and normally spring biased toward a blocking and locking position. The blocking member engages the lock case and denies the bolt freedom to move in an unlocking direction. The blocking member is forced to a disengaged position by an electromechanical drive, such as a stepper motor driving a cam wheel and cam follower, or a solenoid directly or indirectly acting to force the blocking member to a position within the bolt and disengaging the blocking member from engagement with the lock casing. To simplify the solenoid in one embodiment, upon slidebolt movement toward a withdrawn, unlocked position, the blocking member forms and provides a camming structure to break any residual magnetic seal of the solenoid armature to the solenoid body.

摘要: A latch that can be used as a mechanical aid for insertion/extraction of a circuit pack into/from a slot in an equipment cabinet. In an example embodiment, a handle of the latch contains a spring-biased locking lever that automatically locks the latch in the closed position when the pawl of the latch engages the keeper. Some embodiments may include an integrated micro-switch that enables a graceful shutdown of the circuit pack, e.g., to avoid an extraction without a proper power-down. At least some embodiments of the latch may also have one or more of the following beneficial characteristics: (i) a relatively large and/or variable leverage ratio; (ii) a relatively small footprint on the faceplate of the circuit pack; (iii) a fully symmetric design with or without the integrated micro-switch; and (iv) enhanced electromagnetic compatibility with the use of an electrically conducting latch base and/or gasket.

摘要: A gate having a latching mechanism which requires two distinctly different unlatching movements which occur in distinctly different directions, but where both of these unlatching movements can be performed with the use of only one hand. In addition, timer/alarm capabilities are provided to emit an alert signal in situations where the gate has been opened and has not been reclosed within a given time interval after the gate was opened. The gate has a self-closing spring assembly arranged within a pivot assembly. All of the above capabilities are obtained through a greatly simplified design which is extremely rugged and provides highly reliable service.
