    摘要: An ophthalmic filter material having a photopic transmittance (Y.sub.P) higher than the scotopic transmittance (Y.sub.S), the ratio of Y.sub.P :Y.sub.S being in the range of 2.0-4.0, a dominant wavelength within the ranges of 580-605 nm and a color purity of 60-75% whereby colors perceived through the material approximate those of the scene being viewed. A method of producing such a filter material which comprises heating a photochromic glass lens in a reducing atmosphere for a time and at a temperature that is sufficient to impart the recited characteristics to the glass surface and that is equivalent to a flowing hydrogen atmosphere, or immersing a tintable plastic solution in a dye solution for a time sufficient to impart the recited characteristics.

C. for at least four hours to produce an integral reduced layer in at least one surface of the articles of sufficient depth to prevent the transmission of ultraviolet radiation through the articles.

    摘要: Cuprous halide- or a cuprous-cadmium halide-containing glass articles are produced which are essentially completely opaque to ultraviolet radiation and can De essentially completely opaque to radiation within the region of wavelengths of up to 550 nm, but are transparent to visible radiations having a wavelength longer than the radiation within the region of opacity. The method involves exposing the glass articles to a hydrogen gas-containing atmosphere at a temperature between about 375.degree.-500.degree.     摘要: Disclosed is a photochromic plastic ophthalmic lenses having polymer matrices with an effective amount of at least one photochromic agent distributed therein, applied thereto or associated therewith and at least one ophthalmic filtering dye applied thereto, associated therewith or distributed therein the lens. A group of the filter lenses have dominant wavelengthes between 570 and 605 nm and color purity between 50% and 75%. Another lens product of the present invention is particularly suitable for patients suffering from retinitis pigmentosa. The lenses of the present invention are particularly suitable for individuals bothered by strong or variable illumination intensity.
