Abstract:
An apparatus and related method for selectively dispensing aerosolized water into the atmosphere to adjust the humidity level thereof is provided.
Abstract:
A device for discharging the contents of an aerosol container onto a surface which allows an operator to determine the distance the device travels when moved relative to the surface is provided. The device includes a housing having a structure for holding an aerosol container. The aerosol container having an actuator mounted on the container that moves between discharging and non-discharging positions. The device further includes an actuating assembly which effects movement of the aerosol container actuator between the discharging and non-discharging positions and a trigger disposed on the device that controls the actuating assembly and which allows an operator to discharge the contents of the aerosol container onto a surface. The device has at least one rotatable wheel disposed on the housing which rotates as the device is moved relative to the surface and a lever-actuated counter disposed on the device for counting the number of revolutions of the at least one wheel thereby allowing an operator to determine the distance the device has traveled when moved relative to the surface.
Abstract:
A movable marking apparatus for marking a supporting surface includes a housing member, wheels rotatably mounted to the housing for engaging the supporting surface and rolling on it, and a handle assembly secured to a rear portion of the housing for controlling the apparatus and actuating the nozzle of a spray can. The apparatus also includes a counterweight element mounted on the front of the housing. This counterweight element prevents inadvertent lifting of the front of the apparatus and accordingly minimizes discontinuities and imperfections in the marks which the apparatus provides.
Abstract:
A spraying apparatus is provided with a pair of discs for masking the material which is sprayed. The discs are mounted on an axle which is free to move up and down within the spraying apparatus as the spraying apparatus moves over the surface which is being sprayed. Each of the discs includes an axially extending flange which provides a well for retaining material which is sprayed onto the disc.
Abstract:
A marking apparatus is equipped with a measuring device so that the marking apparatus can make a series of equally spaced marks. The marking apparatus includes an elongated can holder which is adapted to hold an aerosol can of marking material and a trigger for opening the valve of the can to spray the marking material on a surface. The measuring device comprises an elongated rod which is provided with a longitudinally extending slot, and the rod is pivotally and slidably connected to the can holder by a pin or bolt which extends through the slot and a wing nut which is threadedly engaged with the pin. The rod is pivotable between a storage position in which it extends alongside the can holder and a measuring position in which it extends angularly away from the can holder toward the surface. The rod can be releasably locked in either position by tightening the wing nut, and the distance between the end of the rod and the wing nut can be varied by sliding the slotted rod relative to the wing nut. A series of equally spaced marks can be made by placing the end of the rod over the previous mark to space the can holder and spray can a constant distance from the mark.
Abstract:
A spraying apparatus for discharging the contents of a valve-equipped aerosol can comprising: an elongated, hollow tube having a front and rear end; a front housing fixed to the tube at the front end, the front housing including a can holder comprising a hollow cylinder sized to receive an aerosol can; a bell crank pivotally mounted in the front housing; a trigger rod fixed to a first arm of the bell crank, an actuator rod fixed to a second arm of the bell crank and mounted within the first housing for longitudinal movement between a discharging position, and a non-discharging position; a biasing spring fixed between the trigger rod and a retaining wall in the front housing; a rear housing mounted to the rear end of the tube the rear housing including a grip portion; a trigger disposed within the rear housing and connected to the trigger rod for reciprocating horizontal movement between a discharging position and a non-discharging position; and a locking land disposed within the rear housing for frictionally receiving a front surface of the trigger when it is moved vertically from the discharging position, the biasing spring biasing the trigger into engagement with the locking land and thus maintaining the trigger in the discharging position.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a device and method for propelling liquids to long distances. The invention is especially useful for marking animals such as sheep for identification purposes. The device itself comprises a container, liquid residing within said container, gas propellant residing within said container, means comprising an inlet and an outlet for controlling the discharge of said liquid from said container, said means being biased in a closed position and being movable to an open position in response to external pressure thereto, wherein the inlet of said means is in communication with said container, and a tube through which said liquid exits said device in communication with the outlet of said discharge means, said tube extending outwardly from said outlet, wherein the combination of said discharge means, said tube, and said propellant are adapted for discharging said liquid as a liquid stream to a distance of from about ten to about twenty-five feet when said discharge means is moved into the open position. The discharged liquid used in the device and method is also nonflammable according to CSMA and Consumer Product Safety Commission standards.
