    摘要: A take-out roll, spreader roll or equivalent roll for a web-like material having three parts linked with one another, namely, a middle part and two end parts, one on each side of the middle part. The middle part and end parts are pivotal with respect to one another for the purpose of bending the roll into a desired curved shape. The middle part is constructed to operate as a revolving axle of the roll which is mounted revolvingly on support members by end bearings. The end parts are mounted in the area of their axial inner ends on the middle part by articulation devices. The end parts are further mounted in the area of their axial outer ends, revolvingly and movably in a radial direction on support parts which are separated from the revolving parts of the roll by bearings arranged inward of the end bearings in the axial direction of the roll.

    摘要: Vibration is prevented in a multi-nip calender (1) or an array of multi-nip calendars. Each calender has a lower roll (3; 40), an upper roll (3; 30) and two or more intermediate rolls. A fibre web is conveyed through the closed roll nips of the calenders. The intermediate rolls (3) have load-relieving means and the upper roll (3; 30) and the lower roll (3; 40) have loading means, while loading means are connected to the lower roll (3; 40) and/or the upper roll (3; 30) for loading these rolls from the outside in a direction parallel with the calender plane. The running parameters (9) influencing the calendering impulse of one or more selected roll nips (N) are intermittently or continuously changed, such that the overall calendering impulse (9) of the calender or calender array and/or the quality variables (21) of the fibre web remain substantially constant and/or within predetermined limits.

    摘要: An apparatus for cleaning the surface of a backing roll in a coater or a calender roll, wherein the roll is cleaned by spraying water on it and then scraping the water away from the surface or the roll with a doctor blade. Splashing of the water accumulating in front of the doctor blade is prevented by a rubber sheet extending down close to the tip of the blade, or alternatively, using a guide blade mounted in front of the doctor blade. The rubber sheet preceding the doctor blade isolates the water pond formed in front of the doctor blade from the surface of the roll, so that the rotational movement of the roll cannot induce turbulence and splashes.
