摘要: The invention relates to a holographic display element which includes a reflection hologram and is attached to, for example, an automobile windshield so as to project light rays carrying images of display information onto the display element from a luminous source in the car. When external light such as sunlight coming is diffracted by the reflection hologram there is a possibility that visible light ranging from 570 nm (greenish yellow) to 780 nm (red) is diffracted into a certain range of angles in a horizontal plane and makes a strange impression on persons viewing the windshield from the outside. According to the invention another reflection hologram having different diffraction characteristics is superposed on the first hologram on the outer side in order that diffraction of visible light into the aforementioned range of angles may become inconspicuous. In one embodiment the second hologram diffracts light of 570-780 nm at angles outside the aforementioned range of angles thereby to prevent undesirable diffraction by the first hologram. In another embodiment the second hologram diffracts different wavelengths into the range of angles so that additive color mixing with visible light diffracted from the first hologram results in whitening of diffracted light or reduction in the excitation purity of diffracted light as viewed outside the vehicle.

摘要: A holographic display apparatus reconstructs an image by projecting a beam of a luminous source to a holographic sheet including a plurality of holograms. The holograms are arranged so that the central axes of images recorded in the holographic sheet are directed in a same direction, in the diverging direction, or in a converging direction. Additionally, each hologram has a first focal distance f1 (mm) and a second focal distance f2 (mm) which are in a relationship such that f1.ltoreq.f2/28+50 and f1

摘要: Disclosed herein is a system including a first optical fiber transmission line, a plurality of second optical fiber transmission lines, a branching section for optically connecting these first and second optical fiber transmission lines, a monitor device optically connected to the first optical fiber transmission line, and a plurality of reflecting sections respectively provided in the vicinity of open ends of the second optical fiber transmission lines. The monitor device outputs monitor light through the first optical fiber transmission line and the branching section to each of the second optical fiber transmission lines. The reflecting sections reflect the monitor light to thereby generate identification optical signals having different patterns for respectively identifying the second optical fiber transmission lines. With this configuration, the monitor device can detect an abnormality in each of the second optical fiber transmission lines according to the presence of absence of the corresponding identification optical signal.

摘要: A light source error detection system and method including monitoring a plurality of characteristics of a light source and controlling the light source based on a plurality of monitored results. The system and method control the light source differently for a first case when only one of the monitored characteristics is abnormal than a second case when more than two of the monitored characteristics are abnormal. In controlling the light source, an output power of the light source is decreased with different time constant for the first case and the second case.

摘要: An optical network system for bidirectional transmission between a main system (e.g., central station) and a plurality of auxiliary systems (e.g., subscriber's stations). The main system outputs a main optical signal to a main fiber. The auxiliary systems output auxiliary optical signals to a plurality of auxiliary fibers, respectively. The main fiber and the auxiliary fibers are network-connected by a connecting unit. The main system has a detector for detecting the auxiliary optical signals and a control signal generator for generating a control signal including data for designating a specific auxiliary system whose auxiliary optical signal is not detected. The main optical signal in the auxiliary fiber corresponding to the specific auxiliary system is attenuated according to the control signal. Accordingly, laser hazard in each auxiliary system is prevented.

摘要: An optical transmission device in which: a first cyclic filter with a fixed transmission wavelength characteristic and a second cyclic filter with a variable transmission wavelength characteristic are combined, and the transmission wavelength characteristic of the second cyclic filter is changed according to a target wavelength, to thereby control the relative phase relationship of the transmission wavelength characteristics of the first and second cyclic filters. Moreover a light source is controlled according to a monitored value of the transmittance of the second cyclic filter with respect to the control target light, to thereby match the wavelength of the control target light with the target wavelength. Consequently, it is possible, with a simple configuration using a combination of two cyclic filters, to variably control wavelength at arbitrary wavelength intervals at a high level of precision.

摘要: A step signal of which the period varies according to random data is derived from a step pulse generator, and is supplied to an address counter. By the output data from the address counter, an address of a waveform ROM is specified. From a waveform ROM, the waveform based on the random data is output in the form of a distorted waveform signal. Using this output signal of the distorted waveform, a cymbal sound, for example, is generated in a musical tone generator.
