摘要： A magnetic tape cassette has a front end opening adjoining an underside cutout formed in the bottom of a cassette casing. The underside cut-out is openably covered by a sliding shutter member. A torsion spring is employed for biasing the sliding shutter member toward its closed position. The torsion spring is secured to the sliding shutter member and has an extension abutting around the lateral center portion of the inner surface of the cassette casing so as to bias the sliding shutter member frontwardly toward the closed position. The torsion spring thus provides an improved appearance and better productability with simplified mounting structure therefor.

摘要： A magnetic tape cassette is provided with a pivotal closure lid pivotably secured to both sides of a casing for movement between a closed position, in which the front opening of the casing, through which a magnetic tape is accessible for loading onto a rotary head, is covered, and an open position wherein the closure lid is pivoted away from said opening to expose the tape while the cassette is in use. The magnetic tape cassette is also provided with a sliding closure member slidably mounted on the bottom of the casing and cooperative with the aforementioned pivotal closure lid. The sliding closure member is in a closed position while the pivotal closure lid is in its closed position, in which it covers a bottom clearance through which a device constituting part of a tape holding system is inserted, and in an open position while the pivotal closure lid is in its open position to allow the aforementioned device of the tape handling system to reach into the casing through the bottom clearance. A locking pin holds the sliding closure in the current one of its two positions. The sliding closure holds the pivotal closed while in its own closed position.

摘要： A disc cartridge for housing a magnetic disc of an increased recording capacity includes recording/reproducing apertures formed in the main cartridge body portion for exposing a portion of a signal recording area of the disc-shaped recording medium to outside across the inner and outer rims of the disc-shaped recording medium. The disc cartridge also includes a shutter member having shutter portions for opening/closing the recording/reproducing apertures and supporting portions provided on both sides of the direction of movement of the shutter portions and supported for movement by the main cartridge body portion and movement guide portions provided on both sides along the width-wise direction of the recording/reproducing apertures which is parallel to the movement direction of the shutter member. The supporting portions are engaged with the movement guide portion for movement. The recording/reproducing apertures are located so that one opening end facing the outer rim of the disc-shaped recording medium is located between the movement guide portions and a lateral side of the main cartridge body portion. The supporting portions of the shutter member are formed with cut-outs adapted for opening the recording/reproducing apertures as far as one opening edges of the apertures when the shutter member has been moved to a position of opening the recording/reproducing apertures.
