摘要： The flexible flat cable has an insulating base film, at least two sets of conductor groups and an insulating cover layer for covering the conductor groups. An end of the cable has, on one surface thereof, conductor contact areas formed by directly and partially exposing conductors of the conductor groups or partially exposing conductor area electrically connected to the conductors. The conductor contact areas are aligned along the width of the cable for each conductor group. The connector for connecting the cable has a connector body and a retainer plate and pinches the cable between the connector body and the retainer plate and contacts the conductor contact areas of the cable to the corresponding contacts on the opposite sides of the connector body to make electrical connection therebetween.

摘要： A disk-shape portion of a surface mount connector housing or a separate cap member provides an upwardly facing surface adherable by suction to a suction nozzle of a conventional, automatic, vacuum type pick-and- place assembly tool and are, respectively, either integrally joined to the connector at the mating face, by a frangible or severable portion, or releasably attached to the connector housing by resilient legs which grip the housing between them, enabling the connector to be carried into position on a circuit board by the tool.

摘要： An electrical connector of a right angle header type including a housing with a series of contact members having connecting portions and lead portions at mating and rear faces, respectively, the lead portions being bent through 90 degrees forming medial portions extending rearward from the rear face and board connecting portions extending downward so that free ends of the board connecting portions are insertable into respective connecting through-holes of a circuit board. A lead portion retaining member having lead portion locating groves on a lower face is releasably attached to the housing to extend over the medial portions to prevent upward movement thereof during insertion of the end portions into the respective connecting through-holes, thereby obviating risk of misjudgement that the connector is correctly installed on the circuit board. A lead locating and guiding member has a series of lead receiving apertures at positions corresponding to the connecting holes of the circuit board receiving respective connecting portions and is mounted on the housing for sliding movement from a first, lead locating position, receiving respective connecting portions at locations adjacent respective free ends thereof, to a second position, remote from the free ends, during movement of the board connecting portions progressively into respective connecting through-holes of the circuit board.
