    摘要: A clear color image having a high contrast ratio without particular coloration is displayed on a screen by improved display apparatus. Such display apparatus is comprised of a spatial light modulator including a photo-conductive layer, a photo-modulator layer and a dielectric mirror, a device for writing color images of different colors onto the spatial light modulator time-divisionally in a sequence of the different colors, a reading device for producing reading lights having different colors in synchronism with time-divisional writing of the color images, and for projecting the reading lights to the spatial light modulator, a driving device for supplying the spatial light modulator with different voltages and frequencies correspondingly with the reading light of different colors and in synchronism with time-divisional projections of the reading lights, and a device for projecting the color images read out from the spatial light modulator on the display device.The dielectric mirror may have a light absorbance characteristic controlled to be wavelength-selective to absorb a color of light to which the photo-conductive layer is most sensitive, so that lights having different colors leaked into the photo-conductive layer through the dielectric mirror are controlled to cause a uniform impedance of the photo-conductive layer.

    摘要: A display device of projection type capable of projecting an image with well defined image frame is disclosed. The device comprises 3 spatial light modulators on which color image information is written in 3 primary colors respectively and is read out as a combined optical color image in a form of light beam, the light beam is then projected out of the display device through lens groups for forming a projected image on a screen, the device further comprises a mask disposed in a proximity of an imaginary image formation plane arranged to locate in a vicinity of one of the lens groups, the light beam is caused to form an optical image on the imaginary image formation plane. The mask has a variable light shielding configuration controlled either electronically or electro-mechanically for cutting off unnecessary light portions of the light beam carrying the optical image so that an image of high contrast and well defined clear fringe is projected on the screen.

    摘要: In a color image display apparatus, light beams intensity modulated by a green color image signal are deflected by an ocillating mirror, and then focused on a photo-conductive layer (PCL) member of a light-written type spacial light modulation element (SLM) through two focusing lenses for light write operation. Light beams intensity modulated by a time-axis compressed time-divisional image signal of two remaining colors (red and blue) are deflected by another mirror oscillated simultaneously with the ocillating mirror, and then focused on a PCL member of a SLM of the same type through two focusing lenses for light write operation. A read light beam is resolved into the light of the green wave length band and the lights of red and blue wave length bands, respectively, and then given to the SLMs, respectively for light read operation. The two read light beams reflected by the SLMs are synthesizing, and then projected on a screen through a common projection lens.

    摘要: An image formation apparatus using a recording medium including a scattering-mode light-modulation member which takes an opaque state in response to a heat and takes a transparent state in response to an electric field. The apparatus comprises a heater and an electrode device which are disposed in opposed relation to the recording medium. The heater preheats the recording medium in accordance with a control signal from an external device and the electrode device applies an electric field to the recording medium after the heating, thereby completely erasing an image previously recorded in the recording medium. After the erasure, the recording medium is heated by a thermal head in accordance with an information signal from an external device so as to form a new image in the recording medium.

    摘要: An image formation apparatus using a recording medium including a scattering-mode light-modulation member which takes an opaque state in response to a heat and takes a transparent state in response to an electric field. The apparatus comprises an electrode device disposed in opposed relation to the recording medium and a charge removal device facing or in contact with the recording medium. The electrode device applies an electric field to the recording medium thereby completely erasing an image previously recorded in the recording medium and the charge removal device removes charge left in the recording medium due to application of the electric field by the electrode device. After the erasure, the recording medium is heated by a thermal head in accordance with an information signal from an external device so as to form a new image in the recording medium.

    摘要: A liquid-crystal display apparatus includes a layer of liquid crystal. A matrix array is composed of scanning electrodes and signal electrodes. The scanning electrodes extend along a matrix row direction. The signal electrodes extend along a matrix column direction. Switching circuit elements are located at respective places where the scanning electrodes intersect with the signal electrodes. Pixel electrodes connected to the switching circuit elements are operative for controlling portions of the liquid-crystal layer respectively. A first device is operative for driving the scanning electrodes. A second device is operative for delaying a first video signal into a second video signal. A third device is operative for alternately selecting one out of the first video signal and the second video signal to generate a third video signal in response to the first video signal and the second video signal. A fourth device is operative for periodically inverting a polarity of the third video signal at a timing synchronous with alternately selecting by the third device to convert the third video signal into a fourth video signal. A fifth device is operative for feeding the fourth video signal to the signal electrodes.

    摘要: The present invention provides an image processing apparatus for use with an image projector to allow the image projector to project a magnified image on a screen without a trapezoid distortion or a keystone distortion even when a normal line of the screen is declined to an optical axis of a projector lens of the projector. Digital image data from AD converter are stored in the image memory (6-9) through a selector (3). From the image memory, the image data of four pixels nearby a deformed coordinate position are read out through a selector (4). The image data of the deformed coordinate position is obtained by calculating an average of sum of arithmetic results obtained by giving a weight to each of image data of the four pixels. The weight given corresponds to a positional deviation value from the deformed coordinate position to the respective coordinate positions of the four pixels nearby the deformed coordinate position.
